I've always found Hopkins a bit obvious.

She just goes all red and blusters her way through by being gobby and talking over everyone.

Oh I don't doubt that it does happen to some people Cowboys - just not to Samantha Brick.

I think you have to extremely beautiful for women to actually be wary/envious/nasty and she just isn't.

I've seen her on TV now, and bearing in mind she was wearing a ton of slap and perfectly coiffed hair and the best clothes she could find just to prove her point, I still only found her merely slightly above average. My DH said he didn't find her attractive at all.

DH hasn't seen any of this. Have just shown him the This Morning interview. His comment. 'Terrible teeth'. He says she is not what he would call beautiful.

FWIW I think Samantha is extremely naive and inexperienced as a journalist if she didn't realise the effect that a story like this would have, tbh. I was never a hot shot journalist, only did the job rather hand to mouth for a few years whilst teaching, but I can't imagine in a month of Sundays writing something like this completely unaware of the potential for disaster and embarrassment.

She also lost the opportunity of making a valid point - the focus is now on her narcisissm rather than the valid issue of people being got at because they are conventionally more attractive than average, due to some genetic fluke.

This will either begin or end her career. It will be interesting to see which happens.
