To get annoyed with Amazon reviewers

Who leave bad reviews due to their own stupidity.

YABU, they make me laugh.

Magneto · 09/03/2012 13:43

Link!

YouOldSlag · 09/03/2012 13:43

Can you elaborate, OP?

Voidka · 09/03/2012 13:46

Things like this

I bought this to read to a 5 year old - it was in the key-stage-1 section. I should have taken notice of the reviewers who said things like "I love to read my children these stories, when they let me". The language style and the backgound knowledge required is just not that of a five-year old. Don't buy it, if your kids are under 36.

YABU, I find Amazon reviews hilarious (whether it's intentional or not). This is a legend personal favourite

Methe · 09/03/2012 14:01

I hate ones that dissect every page of the story and ruin the book for you.

Voidka · 09/03/2012 14:05

Why would you want a picture of Paul Ross Confused.

I like reading them, but I really dont like how they pull down the stars for a book because they have not read the description properly.

Popcorn that is brilliant!

cheekybarsteward · 09/03/2012 14:11

Oh god, thanks for that popcorn, that has made me laugh on a particulary painful day :)

gaelicsheep · 09/03/2012 14:16

The most annoying for me are the ones who give a book a bad review because of problems with delivery!

GoEasyPudding · 09/03/2012 14:21

popcorn, thats the funniest thing I've read in ages. Thank you.

MamaMary · 09/03/2012 14:21

Popcorn, that is hilarious. Who is Paul Ross though?

Selks · 09/03/2012 14:22

Popcorn that link is utterly hilarious on so many counts. Must be a spoof advert in the first place....box photo of Paul Ross - WTF? - selling for £2,500 - WTF?? - which has 448, yes, 448, bonkers customer reviews! Either one very bored or lots of very bored people have created that....love it.

Selks · 09/03/2012 14:23

......and take a look at the 'customers who bought this also viewed......' bar at the bottom! Too funny! Grin Grin

wellthatsdoneit · 09/03/2012 14:38

Hahaha - I particularly liked this one-star review, re the Paul Ross boxed canvas:

"I bought this for my wife at Christmas, but all she did was set fire to it and then attempt to put the fire out with an axe.

Disappointed."

2rebecca · 09/03/2012 15:38

I like them, but usually only read the book reviews in detail after reading the book or find they can give the story away. I thought they used to have a spoiler alert button but maybe imagined it.
Great for household items and frying pans, for fiction if looking for a follow up of an author I've just read i just go by star rating and ignore reviews for now.

2rebecca · 09/03/2012 15:40

The frying pans should have been non-fiction books, not sure how I got the 2 confused in my head.

Tmesis · 09/03/2012 15:44

Must remember to avoid your reviews, 2rebecca...

"This biography of Winston Churchill is rubbish. I used it to fry an egg and the dustjacket almost immediately ignited, sending up clouds of thick black smoke and ruining the taste of my breakfast. Still, I met some very personable firemen as a result, so I am giving it two stars."

SecretSquirrels · 09/03/2012 15:45

I never trust those free kindle books with only one review presumably by the author.

HarryHoleCameToTea · 09/03/2012 15:45

I think the most annoying are the ones for dvds where someone in the US gives something 1 star because they failed to understand that it wouldn't play on their machine. Just makes me want to shout at the screen "don't review it if you haven't even watched it!"

JumpJockey · 09/03/2012 15:46

The reviews on this one are classic - you'd think the person writing such a massive academic tome would have thought a bit more carefully about the title...

snigger

SwedishEdith · 09/03/2012 15:48

I hate the ones who give a bad review because they didn't receive it or it was broken in transit

HeartsTrumpDiamonds · 09/03/2012 15:55

A hidden cache of hilarity on Amazon. Who knew!

TheGreatHunt · 09/03/2012 15:59

YANBU

I love the amazon reviews.

However, my personal favourites are the kiddicare ones which usually go along the lines of my baby hasn't been born yet but this cot/toy/etc looks pretty Hmm

TheGreatHunt · 09/03/2012 16:00

Jump surely that's a piss take??
