Had enough of their agenda being forced down my throat whether I want it or not. Major recruitment drive going on lately, and serious opression of other posters views. Just gets worse and worse. This was not what I believed MN was supposed to be about.

I'm off.

Oh yes, Soap

so good

I hate the obsession with derailing (here and elsewhere), nothing wrong with some meandering. Often it helps to maintain equable PARD.

BillyBollyBandy · 21/02/2012 20:38

"In practice from what I have seen many people are radfem in their thinking and libfem in their doing IYSWIM. And have different views on different topics"

YY agree totally.

I also think my balance swings more towards radical anything when wine is consumed.

I don't call it derailing, I call it safe-steerage, eh hully?

Hullygully · 21/02/2012 20:40

oh yes dear James. Quite.

Hullygully · 21/02/2012 20:41

I have just been reading about the "man" who had a baby. And it occurred to me how mad we all are (as a species). Let us have fluidity and more joy.

roundtable · 21/02/2012 20:42

I agree worrall

I put myself in the sin bin a few days ago after an ill judged thread which was supposed to emulate a thread I found very funny.

Being a bit tiddled silly, I didn't look at active threads where there was a real life thread which was very similar to mine but serious.

What are the chances? :)

I wasn't allowed to be in the sin bin, I was just deleted.

No telling off by mnhq, so maybe they got it...

flippinada · 21/02/2012 20:42

What's PARD?

And SardineQueen, great post.

PattiMayor · 21/02/2012 20:42

I think you lured me into RadFem a while ago Basil - I think it was your raffish eyebrows.

I'm a bit disappointed in this thread - it feels like someone's organised a surprise birthday party but the VIP never arrived

Polite And Reasonable Discourse

ledkr · 21/02/2012 20:43

Im going to wear my dungarees with my 6 inch Jimmy Choos Grin

roundtable · 21/02/2012 20:45

Ooh the thread moved on rather a lot. My post makes no sense now!

Hullygully · 21/02/2012 20:45

i always found dungarees terribly challenging in the loo dept

PlentyOfPubeGardens · 21/02/2012 20:45

I cut my own hair the other day and it looks ace Grin I didn't do it out of martyrdom it was because I can't be arsed to go to the hairdressers.

flippinada · 21/02/2012 20:45

Thanks for the clarification Hullygully.

PattiMayor · 21/02/2012 20:45

SGM - did you know that Kevlar was invented by a woman? I found that out the other day :)

AfterDinner · 21/02/2012 20:46

Polite And Reasonable Discourse

Perhaps less accusing people of being the 'enemy' or 'traitors' or 'anti-feminist' when differences of opinion occur might go a long way to resolving things.

Its often not what's said, but the way its said. Passion is only excusable to a point.

But thats wishful thinking.

ledkr · 21/02/2012 20:46

Not if you wear the straps fetchingly draped over your arse hully

anonymosity · 21/02/2012 20:48

I often abandon MNet for great stretches of time, its because I get very bored by it and seek out non-internet based activities and discussion. Easy come, easy go...

PlentyOfPubeGardens · 21/02/2012 20:49

Not as bad as jump-suits, Hully.

PattiMayor · 21/02/2012 20:50

After Dinner - are you sure you've got that right? Confused I don't recall anyone ever using any of those words.

TunipTheVegemal · 21/02/2012 20:50

when did a MN feminist call someone a traitor?

There was a troll recently who did I believe, it's a pity if people are falling for that, but I have never seen it from a genuine MNer.

SinicalSanta · 21/02/2012 20:50

Irregular verb innit.

I have a POV
You have a bias
they have an agenda.

I certainly expect any radfems to stay in their little corner frothing away to their hearts content.

If they must join in any other threads they can only do so if they leave their opinions behind them, and start agreeing that xyz is harmless and a bit of fun.

catgirl1976 · 21/02/2012 20:51

Anti-feminist gets used a lot. As does hand maiden.

GurlwiththeFrothyCurl · 21/02/2012 20:52

I once had some rather fetching yellow dungarees back in the distant past. Probably couldn't fit into them now, but will try to squeeze them on. Although wouldn't be able to walk far.

Why shouldn't feminists post anywhere at all on MN?
