Had enough of their agenda being forced down my throat whether I want it or not. Major recruitment drive going on lately, and serious opression of other posters views. Just gets worse and worse. This was not what I believed MN was supposed to be about.

I'm off.

OP posts:

Confused cornsilkteamdixon we are all lovely on that forum arent we? i find it very useful and have picked up lots of tips on how to look after my feathered girls (and the occasional boy of course) MN isnt compulsory and sometimes people do get right on my nerves with their views but hey thats life isnt it. we cant all like everyone all the time. what does get on my nerves is the gratuitous swearing and swearing at other people that the posters don't even know. you wouldnt walk up to someone in the street and say the b word would you. if i dont like it i just switch off.

oiwheresthecoffee · 21/02/2012 18:17

Couldnt give a fuck. Dont let the door hit you on the way out.

usualsuspect · 21/02/2012 18:18

It's the smug make from scratch pancake makers that might tip me over the edge today

oiwheresthecoffee · 21/02/2012 18:18

Radfem my arse. People objecting to the ill treatment of women is bad now is it ? Hmm

catgirl1976 · 21/02/2012 18:22

7p usual

you could convert me

ChazsBrilliantAttitude · 21/02/2012 18:22

Having seen some of your charming contributions to threads all I can say is don't let the door hit you on the arse on your way out...

Is that RadFem enough for you?

AmazingBouncingFerret · 21/02/2012 18:27

I dunno, those drunken lot on a Friday night have some right radical opinions if you ask me. It's them you should watch...

MiladyGardenia · 21/02/2012 18:28

I hate those radfems too. The way they physically reach out of the screen and force my fingers to type stuff.

The pramhuns are just the same you know.

And everyone in aibu.

etc.

AquaBoo · 21/02/2012 18:28

Good. Bye.

catgirl1976 · 21/02/2012 18:28

It would appear the OP has unpopular and controversial views that may even offend people. I don't really know her

However - why the fuck is everyone being nasty and telling her to leave?

I really hate bullying and what makes me more Hmm is when it's women bullying other women and then those women go around talking about sisterhood and standing up for and protecting women.

Seriously - however much people disagree with the OPs views, this sort of behaviour is shameful. It's very unpleasant to see. You don't bully and gang up on people just because they hold different views to you.

There are people on here who think god planted fossils on the earth to test humans faith. People think all sorts of stuff. If you want to try and change their views I am not sure this is the way to do it.

Really unpleasant

Voidka · 21/02/2012 18:31

If you post in feminism or on topics about men paying for sex you are always going to get those kind of opinions.

But its not fair to make sweeping generalisations of the whole board.

toddlerama · 21/02/2012 18:33

The section I don't get is the doghouse. They're just dogs. Confused

Feminism on the other hand is the reason you can even read mumsnet, because you have received some form of education despite your lack of penis. YABU and you are WRONG

nenevomito · 21/02/2012 18:33

catgirl

  1. They have form.
  2. No one likes a whinger.
yellowraincoat · 21/02/2012 18:34

I agree with catgirl, I hate all this "fuck off then" blah blah. Is feminism only for the women we agree with?

Honestly though OP, just hide feminism. It's fine. It's a good lesson for life - if you don't agree with what someone is saying, you don't HAVE to engage.

Personally I like the feminism topic and of course there are going to be women on there with strong views. It's not as if life in general throws up too many feminist viewpoints, so it's nice that people have a space.

nenevomito · 21/02/2012 18:34

Just to clarify point 2 - that was not directed at you!

BillyBollyBandy · 21/02/2012 18:34

catgirl plenty of people get pissed off with posters announcing they are leaving, hence Flouncers Corner.

I think a fair few of the goodbye comments relate to that rather than the reason behind it

yellowraincoat · 21/02/2012 18:35

I don't think that matters babyheave. So the OP has unpopular opinions. That doesn't mean you get to kick her.

I like whinging, I am British.

catgirl1976 · 21/02/2012 18:36

:) I didn't take it that way babyheave

But even if she does have form and is flouncing the sort of pack-mentatility, ganging up that seemed to be starting was really not pleasant.

nenevomito · 21/02/2012 18:37

You may want to rethink your use of personal pronouns.

scottishmummy · 21/02/2012 18:37

the feminist topics are interesting ,thought provoking and yes at times utterly frustrating.but I don't need to concur with all topics so I will pile in

op I'd advise do stay,do participate

feminist topics did have a shrill period were any opinion not liked was rebuked and cries of what about da menz and accusations of anti feminist.that was largely a few huge egos running wild. but then fundamentally the inevitable question got asked

is it a feminist board or a mn subject topic about feminism

cue much aggro until mn waded in clarified topic on mn about feminism.not a feminist board

few huffs and flouters.accusations of mn being out to undermine the topic....dust settled and it's been a better topic to post in

KingOfCarrotFlowers · 21/02/2012 18:37

ahem

WorraLiberty · 21/02/2012 18:37

OP, people can only oppress your views if you allow them to.

Yes, there are a few people on MN (not just radfems) who will try to 'silence' others by ridiculing their views and being downright rude to them...particularly if their view isn't the 'norm' in their opinion.

But if you let people like that get to you, I'd say internet forums in general are not for you.

If you have a POV on anything then just post it and sod 'em.

I'd rather debate with people I disagree with than be part of some super twee forum where everyone feels the same about everything.

As I've said before, no-one's going to type you to death if they disagree with you.

Some of them seemed that way billy, but there were one or two which seemed personal
