Had enough of their agenda being forced down my throat whether I want it or not. Major recruitment drive going on lately, and serious opression of other posters views. Just gets worse and worse. This was not what I believed MN was supposed to be about.

I'm off.

Bearcrumble · 21/02/2012 17:57

Bye then.

CMOTDibbler · 21/02/2012 17:59

Don't let the door slam on your way out.

woollyideas · 21/02/2012 17:59

I have seen nothing radfem... Care to elucidate?

LaBoccaDellaVerita · 21/02/2012 17:59

You don't have to engage with them you know!

bibbitybobbityhat · 21/02/2012 17:59

?

cybbo · 21/02/2012 18:00

And being a feminist is wrong because......

mosschops30 · 21/02/2012 18:00

I just hide the feminist shite because i dont care about all that stuff

JamRagRolyPoly · 21/02/2012 18:02

Good.

I'd rather rad feminists than just plain rude, like you were on my thread because I, and other posters didn't agree with strip clubs

Radfem??

I've just read a thread in RL about mens attitudes to prostitution and am incensed over a topic I had never given much thought to other than "prostitution is bad".

I would like to thank the very well informed people who have really made me think today. If that is Radfem, then can I have more please?

catgirl1976 · 21/02/2012 18:02

Well just ignore them if you don't like their views. People are entitled to their opinions however odd / extreme they may be. Free speech and all that.

I
MN isn't "about" anything, but if everyone left forums because they didn't like the extreme views of a minority there would only be that minority left and then it would be oneviewonly.net

cornsilkteamdixon · 21/02/2012 18:03

I feel oppressed by the chicken keepers.

chibi · 21/02/2012 18:04

no poster can block anyone else's posts from being seen by others- how could your views (or anyone else's) be being oppressed?

your views are not special, or deserving of respect merely because you hold them. provided posters are engaging with you respectfully as per the site ethos -no personal attacks, namecalling etc- where is the problem?

It is always disappointing when our cherished beliefs fail to be met with the applause of our peers.

I wish you much luck encountering any one of many, many talkboards which are openly contmeptuous of radical feminism. Perhaps you will be happy there.

I used to feel like that about the latest-must-have buggy threads. Just hide the topic if you have nothing in common with the posters. Recruitment drive? I can honestly say I haven't seen that. I like the Feminist section.

BillyBollyBandy · 21/02/2012 18:06

Also RadFem to think that hookers generally don't enjoy their work apparently

There is a Flouncers Corner you know OP

WelshMoth · 21/02/2012 18:07

I couldn't tell you what a RadFem is OP, but I do care about issues such as pornography and sex trafficking. If caring about issues like this and standing up for and being vocal about them makes you a RadFem, then I guess you could count me in .

Tons of posters are passionate about stuff on here. I may not agree with all of them so I tend to switch threads. Why don't you just do the same, instead of taking it too personally?

Not sure what you mean by 'agenda's' and 'recruitment drive' though - MN isn't a cult. although my DH thinks it is for all the time I'm on it

GinSlinger · 21/02/2012 18:09

yeah and those horse people talking about bloody HORSES all the time. I don't know how I manage not to go onto their boards to tell them to stop talking about HORSES and SADDLES.

catgirl1976 · 21/02/2012 18:09

Bearcrumble - perhaps it is personal attacks like the one you just displayed that is making the OP feel this way. Just because you do not agree with her views does not give you the right to name call and be abusive.

I have no idea what your political views are but you are certainly acting like a little playground bully.

GinSlinger · 21/02/2012 18:10

In fact I might just leave because people are talking about FOOD in the food forum. How fucking rude.

GoingForGoalWeight · 21/02/2012 18:11

We're all entitled to our views. Express one's view, ignore abuse. Direct questions whether abusive or not need not be answered either.

Keep out of arguments and playground 'ganging up'.

I hope you stay :)

Bearcrumble · 21/02/2012 18:11

It is a moronic attitude to assume any woman who is against strip clubs is a radfem. Feel free to report my post though if it makes you feel better.

handbagCrab · 21/02/2012 18:12

Have you slightly name changed op? Because I can see why you feel the way you do. But sometimes we have to look inside ourselves when we have problems with others as it is not always them that are the problem.

catgirl1976 · 21/02/2012 18:14

It's not something I will lose any sleep over bear

Perhaps apologising might make you feel you better though.

I have no idea what went on the thread you are talking about- I didn't see it. Calling another woman a moron because she doesn't agree with you seems pretty nasty though.
