Had enough of their agenda being forced down my throat whether I want it or not. Major recruitment drive going on lately, and serious opression of other posters views. Just gets worse and worse. This was not what I believed MN was supposed to be about.

I'm off.

nenevomito · 21/02/2012 18:39

runningforthebusinheels · 21/02/2012 18:39

:) that's true babyheave

but you forgot to add IDontReadItAndImSorryForLinkingToItButYouNeedToSeeThisNet

scottishmummy · 21/02/2012 18:42

yes mn is the dm linked daily by non readers, naturally
they found dm in GP surgery, cafe

flippinada · 21/02/2012 18:43

Well, MN is not for everyone. Never mind.

LaBoccaDellaVerita · 21/02/2012 18:44

catgirl and worra - always the voices of reason, or something close to it! As demonstrated on this very thread there are posters who might be described as RadFem who seem to think it's perfectly ok to tell people to fuck off, call them morons etc when anything even slightly anti-feminist is voiced. THAT is what puts people off.

catgirl1976 · 21/02/2012 18:45

It should be flippinada.

It should be.

WorraLiberty · 21/02/2012 18:45

I don't believe anyone truly leaves MN when they flounce anyway

I believe they get put in a holding area and forced to make their own pancakes.

ChazsBrilliantAttitude · 21/02/2012 18:45

catgirl - this is a poster who has gone out of their way to pick fights using bullying language and derailing threads from the OP's original purpose e.g. they were asking for help and the flouncer tried to turn it into an argument about feminism (and why they thought it was a bad thing)

WorraLiberty · 21/02/2012 18:46

Something close to it will do Bocca

But not too close Grin

FrothyDragon · 21/02/2012 18:46

Completely up to you.

But can we please stop calling radical feminists "extremists" Hmm It's a bit tiring having to explain what it is every five minutes.

cocolepew · 21/02/2012 18:47

RadFem sounds like an intimate wash.

allthequeensmen · 21/02/2012 18:48

There are radfems here?

derailer,ah yes oft touted fem topics put down.
used to be used if not liking direction or content of thread
fem topics has calmed down it used have some monomaniacal posters. who did accuse whole swathes of people of being derailers etc

Proudnscary · 21/02/2012 18:50

Mumsnet has made me so much more aware of issues such as exploitation of women in porn, domestic violence, emotional abuse.

I am bloody pleased about that - I should know more and care more.

That said I mostly come on here to be entertained, silly and occasionally join in with a bunfight.

TheCrunchUnderfoot · 21/02/2012 18:50

Try Baby Names for a bit maybe OP? :)

catgirl1976 · 21/02/2012 18:52

bocca :) no one has ever called me reasonable before

jam and chaz - I didn't see her thread. I just saw bullying on this one and I will speak up when I see that. If I saw SF bullying people on Jams thread I would have said something to her. But I didn't.

And at the risk of sounding exactly like my mother......two wrongs don't make a right.

frothy some radical feminists hold extreme views. As do some pancake makers, breast feeders, chicken keepers and benefit bashers. Anyone who holds an extreme view is OK to be called an extremist in my book. My book might be wrong. It is still my book though.

flippinada · 21/02/2012 18:52

Yes, I agree Catgirl but then it clearly doesn't suit some people.

The fact that so many people stick around and new posters join all the time gives the lie to MN being unpopular or not inclusive, wouldn't you say?

runningforthebusinheels · 21/02/2012 18:53

Ha ha Rhino - no, they just don't agree with you, that's all. Wink

OriginalJamie · 21/02/2012 18:54

Me too Proudnscary. It has opened mine eyes.

Some peoples' ways of expressing their views bugs me. I'm sure I bug people.

I think we should avoid getting sucked into name-calling the OP - it's exactly what she wants

catgirl1976 · 21/02/2012 18:55

Sure flippinada, but it would be a sad state of affairs if only people who held the majority views joined and stayed and those who held the different ones felt chased off.
