or perhaps Am I normal?

I was recently Irene Adler walking seductively through London, being all mysterious and red-of-nail. Last night as I poured my chardonnay I was Bridget Jones. I'm often the posh lady who very nearly gets the better of Poirot, but doesn't quite and has a "damn you" moment. In my youth I was rather obsessed with Quantum Leap - I regularly leapt into my own body to somehow save a life / a business / the world.

Externally, I'm just an accountant with a happy homelife. Internally, I'm anything I bloody like.

Normal? Come on, I can take it. I've been a Russian spy with homicidal tendancies. In Asda.

dodie, was that Three Gifts for Cinderella? Guess what - it's on Youtube!

GreenEyesAndHam · 11/02/2012 20:03

When I was in EastEnders, I married David Wickes.

And Grant Mitchell Blush

GreenEyesAndHam · 11/02/2012 20:05

Ovo yes I sometimes worry that someone can read my mind as well Grin

God. Imagine. Just?God.

Angiefernackerpan · 11/02/2012 20:05

I'm usually a minor Star Wars character (or Mara Jade Skywalker cos I want magic powers), or when I'm walking up a steep hill I'm Frodo hiking up Mount Doom. I think I'm fairly normal, I bet everyone does it. Blush

DodieSmith · 11/02/2012 20:05

OH MY GOD! Skulks off to YouTube to have a look.

DodieSmith · 11/02/2012 20:10

Wow. That was hysterical... The weird 1970's voiceover and everything...and yet there are moments watching it I can see why I found it so compelling back then.

BettySuarez · 11/02/2012 20:10

I do this a lot!

It is often related to the latest movie I've seen or novel I have read.

I have even been known to make an extra cup of tea for my imaginary friend or lover Blush Blush

bloody hell - I would never have admitted this if it weren't for this thread BlushBlushBlush

OvO · 11/02/2012 20:19

I love you GreenEyes. Grin

bumperliciious · 11/02/2012 20:20

Kind of. When Im listening to my iPod I like to image the songs as movie sound tracks, often in a Carrie Bradshaw, sassily strutting down the street to female power tracks.

GreenEyesAndHam · 11/02/2012 20:26

Yy.

If I'm driving alone in the car and a song I love comes on the radio, then it's usually the final scene of the movie (especially if it's raining, so much better in the wet)

I'm usually a bit battle-weary, taken a bruising but triumphant. On to bigger and better things you know?

I'm such a dick Blush Grin

bumperliciious · 11/02/2012 20:27

There's no way I could do the FBI Joan, i would be far too anxious, I'd really start believing it.

kittencuddles · 11/02/2012 20:30

I'm always presenting my own cookery programme a la nigella when I'm baking!! Glad I'm not the only one.

CaveMum · 11/02/2012 20:33

Yup, another Buffy star here. Varying between a vulnerable young thing thats being stalked by sexy vampires and a vampire temptress. I have an unhealthy attraction to vampires Blush

My latest weirdness is me and my best friend Benedict Cumberbatch who, obviously, has a secret crush on me and takes me to lots of Film Premieres/swanky A-List parties Blush

Grin
threeineachlobe · 11/02/2012 20:35

Oh and I'm regularly interrogated by Morse. I say "and what are you insinuating Chief Inspector" quite a lot.

GreenEyesAndHam · 11/02/2012 20:51

You've just reminded me, I was in the Taggart team for a while, and seduced DI Robbie Ross

ReallyUncertain · 11/02/2012 21:08

I also replay bits, so if I've been Particularly amazing, I redo the scene over a lot few times from different angles to get the full effect. I also quite like the ones where I've got secret special powers and Henry from sanctuary helps me discover them Grin

ReallyUncertain · 11/02/2012 21:09

We are all mad you know that don't you lol

threeineachlobe · 11/02/2012 21:12

Ooh now me and Benedict Cumberbatch often have a clever-off. I win every time, then it gets saucy...

mrsQuintas · 11/02/2012 21:13

SO glad I'm not the only one who does this ! (usually when I'm on the bus on the way to work )

aldiwhore · 11/02/2012 21:15

At present I am mostly a sort of éowyn/arwen character from LOTR.... I get al the guys in different story lines and all the glory of valour. (and lovely swishy hair).

I don't see it is 'crackers' I think we all have our little ways to cure boredom from duty and dull tasks or stave off melancholy.

reallyuncertain I do so many retakes its untrue... :D

I love being interviewed by myself.

I think it sometimes helps me makes sense of the world, sometimes its just a flight of fancy,.

My inner life is mostly replays. But when I need to be present in the real world I am, and think I can only be because I've had such fun on my own!

WottingerAndWottingerAreDead · 11/02/2012 21:24

I'm normally being commended/ recognized for some heroic feat. I'm quite often doing amazing rescues in the face of terrible danger, when all around me have run away in fear.

I have to keep my Desert Island Disc choices up to date also, as well as worrying about which of my amazing feats I'll have time to talk about.

It's a pressure.

ReshapeWhileDamp · 11/02/2012 21:26

GoEasyPudding - har. Yup, me too. One of the Scooby Gang. the one who seduces Spike before Buffy got to him, the ho (Ahem. GoEasy, why am I not surprised? WinkWink Tis I, Le Clerc.)

I have done this since I was about 4. BlushGrin Pretty much anything anyone has already posted, I've done likewise inside my head. It's a nice place to be. Smile

(Oh, and Benedict Cumberpatch is actually a rather strict guy who quite likes to spank me.)

MrsMumf · 11/02/2012 21:27

Yes, yes, yes. Glad I'm not alone.

I'm married to Marcus Mumford, in my head.

munkysea · 11/02/2012 21:31

For years I thought I was sad and childish... so glad to hear other people do it too.
FWIW, I'm in Star Wars.

Annunziata · 11/02/2012 21:36

I do this too! The Olympics is inspiring sports-related glory at the moment, I like to salute the judges in a gymnastic-s-y style when I do my housework!!

I can tell DD does this when she listens to her ipod because she struts down the street on the way home, bless her!
