HowlingBitch · 15/01/2012 17:20

Boak.

Nickoka · 15/01/2012 17:20

I can't believe they are still inflicting Emma's diary on pregnant women today. I HATED Emma twelve year's ago when I was pregnant with my first. She was so pathetic.

ClaraSage · 15/01/2012 17:22

I remember it 19 years ago!

Kayano · 15/01/2012 17:22

Everyone told me I HAD to join.

I did.

It's shit

Sparklingbrook · 15/01/2012 17:23

Sam here Nickoka. DS1 is 12-can't believe Emma is still having babies. Shock

backwardLFDTpossom · 15/01/2012 17:23

I'm pretty sure you're not forced to read it. Agree it's shite, but just chuck it out.

Wafflepuss · 15/01/2012 17:23

Yep, hated it too. Totally pointless.

SingingSands · 15/01/2012 17:24

Good grief, is that still about? It made me howl with laughter!

EggInABap · 15/01/2012 17:24

Emma's diary actually depressed me. I was so scared I would turn into a crazy woman calling my unborn baby 'flump'. It's just so mumsy I hated it.

Garliccheesechips · 15/01/2012 17:25

Is it written with thick as shit people in mind?

The bits where she bangs Nick are the worst though.

ooooh it started off as a massage but then Nick's hands wandered

OP posts:
Sparklingbrook · 15/01/2012 17:25

Do you think Emma is a Mnetter? Grin

anonacfr · 15/01/2012 17:26

She calls her bump 'Flump'. Twat.

I hate the way pregnant women are encouraged to infantilise their unborn babies- we're adults having babies not little girls harvesting dolls.

What's wrong with 'the baby'. Or 'it'? Grin

Shit now I remember why I hated that diary so much.

BackforGood · 15/01/2012 17:26

Well, I'll go against the flow - I found it really helpful when pregnant with my first.

LeBOF · 15/01/2012 17:26

No! Really? How vile Grin

BrianButterfield · 15/01/2012 17:30

I hooted with laughter reading it - she uses words like "hubby" and at one point "chomps" something. Nobody in the history of the English language has actually used "chomp" as a verb with a straight face. She's like the worst Boots advert character ever, all "me time" and "lunch with the girlies".

battherat · 15/01/2012 17:30

YANBU. Emma is a complete tool.

HexagonalQueenOfTheSummer · 15/01/2012 17:31

I hated it in my first pregnancy 14 years ago, hated it in my 2nd pregnancy 8 years ago, my 3rd 3 years ago and still bloody hate it now!

A load of patronising, waffling, guff

Sparklingbrook · 15/01/2012 17:31

I bet Nick is a right wet fish. Grin

anonacfr · 15/01/2012 17:34

It reads like a really bad pregnancy chick lit novel complete with all the really pathetic pregnancy cliches- it made me so cross at the time. Must have been the hormones.

Now I read it and laugh.

CumpyGrunt · 15/01/2012 17:35

I found it helpful with my 1st, 15 yrs ago at the age of 17.

Agree, with BackForGood. I had no internet or many points of reference, not even any family support, just my Dad & EXP.

I looked forward to getting my 'Emma's Diary' 3 yrs ago when I had DD & was shocked at how crappy it was. Just awful.

Garliccheesechips · 15/01/2012 17:35

Nick is the kind of man who asks in a concerned voice if he's hurting you while he's shagging you.

Absolute crock of shite all of it.

I still went and got the free packs from Argos though.

laptopdancer · 15/01/2012 17:36

I never got it!

Agree with BackForGood and CumpyGrunt, 14 years ago when I was a petrified pg 17 year old, I thought it was really good.

Have not read it since though!

Sparklingbrook · 15/01/2012 17:39

I could do with an Emma's Diary now of how she dealing with 10 and 12 year olds. She will probably have some good advice. Wink
