Come hither all those who haven't found their place on mumsnet, have scrapped in Aibu or crossed words in chat. The buddy bench shalt not judge.

The buddy bench will hand out wine and cakes, it will join you on your scoffathons getting pissed

All those who sit on the bench, will have their sins erased and be given a warm welcome and cheerful chat from CheerfulYank, gomummy, tiredmum, teaandcake, valiumredhead and far, far too many more to mention.

Welcome to the buddy bench, we look forward to meeting you all

Oh and don't forget, last one to leave polishes bench and locks up!

Angry birds, Tiredmum? Confused

Room looks pretty strange right now, my primer is a dark charcoal colour!

ElmoFan · 15/01/2012 08:38

Good Morning Smile

LOL Grin tiredmum Angry birds is great even if it does drive you insane Grin

Gomummy - What colour have you picked ? we've just decorated the lounge & dining rooms before Christmas (lounge still not 100% finished) , We've gone for "Cashmere" (kind of a cream but with a hint of Biscuit from it) and all my furnishings are a very Deep Red & mocha colour . The 3 colours go very well together IMO .

Sounds pretty Elmo! :)

DS loves Angry Birds Tiredmum...I never play b/c it seems like something I could become addicted to :o

Having a sleepover at my bestie's again. :) we went to see the movie Joyful Noise and loved it! I do like a good church choir :o

I started a thread asking for homebirth advice...I'm not preg but when/if I am I think I want to do it that way...scared though!

ElmoFan · 15/01/2012 08:57

OOOh Cheerful so do you plan on trying for another baby this year? Smile

My mum bought me a Big rug for my lounge for Christmas but gave it to us in early December , and we loved the three colours together so kind of followed that theme throughout the two rooms Smile

I love rugs! :)

I'd like to ttc soon-ish. Maybe this summer? A spring baby would be nice!

ElmoFan · 15/01/2012 09:30

Oooh Cheerful! :)

Elmo your colours sound lovely. Mine are also coming from the rugs, which are primarily black but have sort of a moroccan design. So I am going with two walls in a deep red, the other 3 walls (funny shaped room) in a colour called Sand something, it is sort of a warm brown. Both also match the marbling around the fire as well. Trim in sort of a yellowish cream. It will be dark, but I think it is a big enough room to do that, iykwim. Fingers crossed! Am too far in now to go back! :)

Grin
Tiredmumno1 · 15/01/2012 15:29

Elmo I know it's so addictive I am trying not to play it today (wonder how long that will last) Grin

Gomummy steer clear it'll drive you insane, it's a highly addictive game, I am a big kid Grin

Cheerful be proud you haven't got sucked in haha, very happy to hear your upcoming news, I'll always wish you all the luck, at least you have fun trying Grin I know I am terrible Wink

CheerfulYank · 15/01/2012 18:27

Tiredmumno1 · 15/01/2012 21:05

Teaandcakeplease · 15/01/2012 21:34

Has your H given in then Cheerful? Wink

Ahh Jammy you'll soon be right at home here I like the fact it's slow enough to keep up at the moment, but it is meant to be a nice place to come if you've been flamed too Grin

Teaandcakeplease · 15/01/2012 21:35

Think I need an eye test you know. Haven't had on in 10 or 12 years, they kept sending me away with perfect vision but today I was trying to focus on something in the distance (maybe 20 metres away max), for a while and my head began to hurt behind my eyes Blush Although I do get vision disturbances before bad headaches sometimes anyway.

Teaandcakeplease · 15/01/2012 21:36

Gah! one

gomummygo · 16/01/2012 00:08

Evening all, did everyone have a good weekend?

Yes Cheerful I will take pics when done (although right now it feels as though I will NEVER be done, will probably have nightmares about painstakingly painting trim tonight!)

Ah Tea, similar happened to me, and it turns out I had to get glasses for distance. Worth checking out. Cost a fortune (not sure about there, vision care not covered for us) but AMAZED what I can see now! ShockGrinBlush

jammydodger1 · 16/01/2012 08:00

its good that the thread is slow enough as i have read some threads in the past and by time you respond the topic has changed Shock
i just decorated my dining room claret red (one wall) and the rest almond and dd1 room in fusion pink (again one wall rest magnolia) and i think it looks good but it seems to take forever!!
fingers crossed for me today as audit results are in so will either bring cream cakes and Wine later if good results or cream cakes and Wine if bad results Grin!!!!

CheerfulYank · 16/01/2012 08:29

Good luck Jammy!

Would it help you keep track of us if we told you things about ourselves? We all do seem to know each other well, don't we? :)

I'm Cheerful :o and live in Minnesota. I've never been out of America in my life except for a few day trips to Canada. I have a DH and one DS who's 4. And a dog, and a feckless brother who lives in my basement. Hmm

How about you?

jammydodger1 · 16/01/2012 12:34

Hi cheerful, yes that would be great, i live in england near leeds, i have dh and two dds, 11 years going on 20!! and dd2 6 years old, dd1 a great kid but she thinks she is invincible and dd2 should have been a boy i think Shock shall we say she likes pushing boundaries!! we also have a cat who lives with us and two that "visit"!! (audit not going quite to plan apparently he cannot be bribed with cakes!!!) Grin

jammydodger1 · 16/01/2012 13:06

gomummygo · 16/01/2012 17:32

Good luck today Jammy! And your room sounds lovely!

I live in Canada, have a DH and a lovely DS who seems to be just entering that 4yo testosterone burst I've read about (!) though he is not yet four, as well as pets, and foster-pets. Am slightly obsessed with cooking and gardening.

I have been randomly audited both at former work (SAHM now) and home so feel your pain. I am the most anal retentive to-the-letter law abiding citizen with all my i's dotted and t's crossed so thought it would be a breeze, but it is still a miserable experience!

gomummygo · 16/01/2012 17:47

Ack. DH has just sent me a message that we are to get 20cm of snow this aft. It is up to a balmy -19 without the windchill right now and it rarely snows significantly when it's below -10 or maybe -15, so what the hell! I have a long drive tonight with DS, grrrrrr mother nature! Sorry, just had to rant!

I should be grateful as we've had the most mild winter so far that either DH or I have ever seen. Is yours mild so far too Cheerful?

CheerfulYank · 16/01/2012 17:54

Yes it's been bizarre! Hardly any snow and warm temps.
