Shit appears to be a theme today.

My DH is normally quite well mannered and comes equipped with all the required social skills. However he has recently started coming into the bathroom to have a shit while I am in the bath or shower. He says he can't wait until I'm done. I think what's the point in having £15 lavender scented bubbles from L'Occitane when he's firing out a smelly dump a metre from my head. I shout at him, but he says I'm being precious and it's what all married people do. Now, I don't want to ask my friends if this sort of thing is normal, so I'm throwing it out here.

And it fucking stinks.

Yesterday I was on the loo when he came in and pissed in the sink.
I'm not sure what the hell has happened to him.

AIBU to think this is vile?

A man i was having an affair with CRAPPED the bed. i kid you not. he did have diarrhoea because he reheated takeaway food in the microwave the night before i was due to come over then tried to hide the fact that he had the trots.
His explanation for crapping the bed when we were both in it at the time......"i thought it was safe to try and fart"

It was gross and the fact that he was willing to risk it when i was in bed with him showed a complete lack of respect as far as i was concerned. It ended not long after. Every time i thought about it,it made me shudder i couldnt face going back there after that.
His encore ..... to wipe the sheet with a baby wipe and then ask me if i wanted the sheets changed! I said "what the fuck do you think???
Later that same night i found said baby wipe covered in faeces sitting on his bathroom shelf! Fucking gross. I felt completely disrespected and the blinkers fell away from my eyes and i saw this "man" for who he really was.

VivaLeBeaver · 18/10/2011 00:12

Dh, before we were together shat on his sofa accidentally. Farted and followed through when he had a poorly tummy.

I also know another bloke who shat the bed when poorly.

ShriekingLisa · 18/10/2011 00:19

That is vile and i would go ape shit if my DH did that to me, in fact if he did it to me i would do the same back to him.

BecJackMissR · 18/10/2011 00:24

YUCK !!! That is gross Shock

zombiebillysolloxx · 18/10/2011 00:33

ha ha! funniest thing iv read all day!

"How can an adult not have any warning or ability to hold it (episodes of dodgy stomachs excepted)? It's just practice. You learn to hold it until a suitable moment"

IBS, Crohns disease, ulcerative colitis, bowel cancer, diverticulitis, old age. How many reasons do you need? Just because you don't have lively bowels please have a little more understanding for those that do. Practice has nothing to do with it, and if you do suffer from one of these conditions, holding it in just makes it worse.

Good Grief!!!!!! I've been married 18 years, 2 children, 1 bathroom, never have either of us done a poo while the other is in the bath/shower!! As for peeing in the sink Shock Shock

WhoseGotMyEyebrows · 18/10/2011 13:30

Do you think he's trying to make a point? Deliverately ruining your relaxing bath?

I would tell him straight "you pooing in front of me removes all the attraction I have for you"

porcamiseria · 18/10/2011 13:32

ask him to have his shit before your bath

WhoseGotMyEyebrows · 18/10/2011 13:35

ask him to have his shit before your bath . . . and then open the window!

thereisalightanditnevergoesout · 18/10/2011 13:40

IBS, Crohns disease, ulcerative colitis, bowel cancer, diverticulitis, old age. How many reasons do you need? Just because you don't have lively bowels please have a little more understanding for those that do.

But presumably OP would know if her husband had a medical condition and would probably not be posting if he did.

And that doesn't cover peeing in the sink - which is just beyond foul, and also unlikely to be about anything other than bad manners and a lack of respect.

Wicked behaviour - [hbiscuit]

MrsMooo · 18/10/2011 14:11

YANBU
give everyone a 10 minute warning to use the loo (and spray airfrshener after them) before you go in or get a seperate loo

weeing whilst DP is in the bath is fine, pooing should be an emergency only thing, not a regular occuance

Peachy · 18/10/2011 14:30

DH had very severe IBS for years; he would always go just as I got into a bath, as long as he did not eat whilst I was in it was fine. My BIL had ulcerative collitis (ended up with ileostomy, so severe), IIRC they compromised on a shower screen that was alla round and opaque for privacy,

Of course, he's my DH, had there been an emergency i could ahve lived with it I guess- but planning / discussion can resolve or at elast alleviate most things.

diddl · 18/10/2011 14:37

If he´s doing it on purpose to spoil your bath then he´s a childish twat.

Weeing in the sink-revolting-I´m sure he could have waited.

I say that as a person who doesn´t care if someone uses the toilet whilst I am in the shower/bath.

Bunbaker · 18/10/2011 14:55

I admit that I am somewhat Shock at the way some familes are so open about using the loo in front of each other. It is one of the reasons why we would never buy a house that has only one loo.

carernotasaint · 18/10/2011 17:05

I have IBS which was diagnosed in 1994. So i know how horrible that can be. It was the fact that he didnt want to change the sheets (i made him change them) then left a shitty baby wipe lying around on his bathroom shelf. And then he couldnt see what he had done wrong.

Angel786 · 18/10/2011 17:09

carter that is just awful beyond words. Gross!

I have ibs too it's shit, excuse the pun! Just an excuse to attribute my stomach cramps to something as they can't diagnose it. I think mine Is allergy related as didn't get any when pg?
