Just read a FB comment from old school mate which went along the lines of..

Eating my tea whilst breast feeding now that takes some doing!

Or words to that effect.

I immediately thought you just want the world to know you're breastfeeding.

I'm I bitter cos I didn't feed very well or very long or are you with me on this one?

You're bitter. Sorry

TethHearseEnd · 16/10/2011 20:45

Hope it's not soup.

Booooooyhoo · 16/10/2011 20:46

yep bitter.

when you first start BFing it can take a lot of skill to be able to eat whilst feeding. nothing wrong with saying you managed it.

WhenSheWasBadSheWasHorrid · 16/10/2011 20:46

You sound a bit bitter.

squeakytoy · 16/10/2011 20:47

I wouldnt have thought it needed too much doing... one hand, one fork one mouth..... one boob, one mouth...

the logistics are not too complicated Grin

now, if she had said she was beastfeeding while doing a cartwheel I would have said send her a round of applause Grin

Nah! I agree with you - it's a big "i'm breastfeeding, woo me!" show-off. However, I'm childless so my opinion may also be declared null and void under the "jealousy" act...

Therupaxim · 16/10/2011 20:49

Sorry but I think YABU. I can see that it's a highly emotive topic for you which is why you feel as if she's rubbing your nose in it but at the end of the day she was just commenting on how difficult it is to BF and eat a meal at the same time. I'd be more annoyed at the need to publicise what she is doing every second of the day (but then I'm a bit of a facebook grump [hsmile])

MumblingAndBloodyRagDoll · 16/10/2011 20:49

Put "Refraining from letting FB know EVERYTHING you're up to...now that's an achievement!"

Or maybe not. Smile

LoopyLoopsPussInBoots · 16/10/2011 20:50

The whole point in FB is to brag, no?

Bitter.

cantpooinpeace · 16/10/2011 20:52

I just don't think you 'd ever read that type of statement with bottle feeding in it - no?

She was after a blue Peter badge I reckon :)

Bitter, yes.

Your feelings of inadequacy are entirely yours. No one is making you feel that way.

seriously is it that hard to eat while bf?

carabos · 16/10/2011 20:55

Why is breastfeeding considered something to brag about? Honestly, what's so clever about "hey everyone, I'm a woman and my body does what it's designed to do - go me".

southeastastra · 16/10/2011 20:56

she sounds a bit web addicted, surely you can keep off the net for five minutes whilst you breasfeed and eat your tea

carabos · 16/10/2011 20:56

That was a knee- jerk reaction BTW.

yep, i think you're just bitter sorry!

ds1 was a nightmare to feed. in fact, it was all i could do to keep him attached with both hans.. there is no way i could have eaten my dinner at the same time.

and she's a new mum, she's allowed to be proud of those little things anyway!

whomovedmychocolate · 16/10/2011 21:00

Lemony type bitter OP

Sorry it didn't work out for you :(

NinkyNonker · 16/10/2011 21:01

A little bitter I think, which is ok as we're all human! I remember once informing FB that I had just applied my make up one-handed, left-handed in the dark whilst feeding a baby, it was just what was going on in my life as against a 'yay me' for BF. I've never really given that fact that I BF a huge amount of thought.

Booboostoo · 16/10/2011 21:02

Sorry YABU.

Bf can be very hard work and that's exactly the comment I would want to share with my friends/family. It would be intended as slightly tongue in cheek and not as braggy but I think that most people would see that. I have in the past posted about bfing and typing, again as a bit of a joke.

southeastastra · 16/10/2011 21:02

do people really post that sort of thing on facebook? that's weird
