DS's dad won't let him join the choir

DS is in the school choir and wants to audition for the church choir. His father however says he can't possibly do so as he will develop a side mouth. AIBU in saying this should be DS's choice as 11 years old?

At 11 he should be able to make the decision for himself. However you do have to consider practicalities i.e how much time it will take up with regards to other family activities.

Side mouth singing is where they sing out of the side of their mouth, there are three famous singing artists who actually sing like that.

Ignore, your ex op, if your ds wants to do it let him. A side mouth what a load of rubbish. I remember singing in the church choir and you had to open your whole mouth to sing and properly from your abdomen.
