Katie on CBeebies

BootyMum · 29/07/2011 15:20

I have a 2 year old and a 6 month old. We spend far too much of our days with CBeebies on, either watching a particular show or it just being on in the background

Have come to realise over a period of time that I cannot bear the presenter Katie. My God she is irritating with her OTT fake cheeriness/wackiness, smug smile and patronising manner. Her "I can cook" song with it's "slippy dippy soap" makes me want to ram said soap in her face!

I read another poster describing her as being like the school's head girl gurning at you from the corner of your living room. Absolutely.

I obviously have no life because this is what is getting my goat this Friday afternoon.

Definitely the longer hair on Sid!!

Auntie Mabel for me shall always be Nurse Gladys

MorelliOrRanger · 30/07/2011 11:26

I love Mr Bloom Blush

Also have a massive crush on Chris Corcoran from Doodle Do.

and Andy (although he does look a bit scruffy with his hair the way it is now)

Mare11bp · 30/07/2011 17:07

That Squglet rubbish presenter, so unrealistic and bad at acting, just doesn't seem real Grin

Mare11bp · 30/07/2011 17:08

Squiglet

MyLittleWerewolf · 30/07/2011 17:30

I have logged on specifically to write on this thread. I do find Katie intensely annoying but I would drop kick Sarah Jane into a skip given half the chance, her and that fucking puppet. Her smile is becoming so sinister it's starting to resemble the Joker.
Mighty Mites is shite. In fact that's what it should be called. Mighty Shite.

Dp and I discussed Me Too the other day for a full half hour.

How old is Granny Murray meant to be ? Is she 27 or 63 ? I don't know.

WHy does she do that weird Eric Morecombe dance as she takes the viewer into her home ? I don't know.

What is that Clyde mannequin that she keeps in her lounge ? Why does she find him so funny ? I DON'T KNOW.

AnotherJaffaCake · 30/07/2011 18:12

Me Too is too weird for words. That mannequin thing in Granny Murray's dingy little basement flat is creepy - I keep waiting for it to move. I can't bear Granny Murray - if she tried to give me her wise words for the day I'd have to give her a good slap :o.

TheyCallMeKipper · 30/07/2011 18:31

She's called Bossy Katie in this house...

ChristinedePizan · 30/07/2011 18:38

I always find it very disturbing that Granny Murray looks younger than me. And I loathe her jumper

LostMyIdentityAlongTheWay · 30/07/2011 18:54

I will literally stop EVERYTHING just in order to watch the rapping songs that Sid and Andy do. I love that. I think it's brilliant.
Sid can really move. swoons......

Is it just me that thinks those songs are better than anything?

AND I adore 'Little Bear' on Tiny Pop, on at 6.30pm and WAY better than the Tombliboos or whateverthefuck it is that CBeebies is showing at that time.

that's like an acid trip gone well wrong, David Jacobi should rue the day he agreed to voice over that one...

MissBetsyTrotwood · 30/07/2011 19:01

I did start reading this thread until I got to the bit where someone slagged off Auntie Mabel and then I couldn't concentrate, such was my throbbing outrage.

As a subsequent poster said, she does shit on all of them. From a great height. Grin

MissBetsyTrotwood · 30/07/2011 19:04

We saw Andy at Glastonbury last year. It was my starrest spot. DS1 was riding on my back and nearly ripped a handful of my hair out in excitement.

He looked much hairier than on the telly. And a bit ill. But then so did a lot of people Blush

PaWithABra · 30/07/2011 19:07

is katie the cooking one ? fuckin hate her.

Mr Tumbles proper does my head in. What a dick.

what did 'Special' say that offended everyone so much ?

ScarlettIsWalking · 31/07/2011 18:59

Someone on here looked granny Murray up and apparently she is 36 Grin

oldsilver · 31/07/2011 19:04

Wiki makes her 41 Smile

chibi · 31/07/2011 19:26

Bye bye honeypie!!!!

Panzee · 31/07/2011 19:28

Was all ready to tut at those who said Mr Bloom is hot.

Then I watched it today for the first time. There's something about him... Blush

Andy is still my favourite though. :o

EauRouge · 31/07/2011 19:36

I only like Aunty Mabel, Sid and Justin, everyone else on CBeebies can chuff off. If Aunty Mabel was allowed to present and star in at least 50% of the shows then I might start watching it again.

I think they play the CBeebies lunch song in secret CIA prisons as a form of torture. If they're going to let Cerrie sing they could at least auto-tune her.

pinkthechaffinch · 03/08/2011 15:03

Ha!

just watching same smile with dd and Nisha sang '3 pandas sitting in a row!

good to know she can take on board constructive advice .

Tanif · 03/08/2011 15:19

Is Justin still on CBeebies? He has that blonde/chubby/boyish faced thing going on I find impossible to resist [swoons]

Kytti · 03/08/2011 15:34

"Loathe mighty mites. Loathe Same Smile, especially the stupid 'we're all the same but different' line at the end. Katie irritates me and Cerrie Burnell's damn gurning and insane face pulling really get on my nerves"

Thank God I'm not alone. And what has Sarah Jane done to her face? That's some serious botox, methinks.

MorelliOrRanger · 04/08/2011 08:34

Tanif - Justin about owns cbeebies, he's very high up there, does links sometimes, and at least 2 shows of his are on now, he's done more than that though. He's fan bloody tastic Grin

AnotherJaffaCake · 04/08/2011 08:47

Justin is fab in Something Special, and DD and DS love the show, but I just can't take to Gigglebiz - it does nothing for me.

Chibi "Bye bye honey pie" - pass me the sick bucket please.

Poshbaggirl · 04/08/2011 09:23

Just turn the bloody telly off. I've taken the fuse out of ours. Kids can entertain themselves for Gods sake. Just turn it OFF.

Thruaglassdarkly · 04/08/2011 09:28

What's with Poi (?) and the Bo Peep gear??? She seems to be wearing it every episode now with gusto. Am thinking she's just a bit too into it to be quite "normal"...

Is she preggers btw?

"Oh my woolly word!" Grin

Thruaglassdarkly · 04/08/2011 09:34

Also a big Justin fan.

One episode of HH he showed photos of his brother. Bloody gorgeous, in male model/film star rather than smiley, chubby, would-make-a-good-dad childrens' presenter type of way. Quite unexpected.

TBH - it probably wasn't really his brother. I just believe everything they say on Cbeebies Grin.
