To ask you to vote in a poll re: my username

Okay, I know my name ruffles feathers. MNHQ sent me a (very nice) email back in February asking if I would consider changing it, I have only just seen the email Blush

I said to MNHQ that I might throw it open to a poll. They said probably not a good idea because people who would prefer me to change it might be reluctant to admit it for fear of being called a prude. So here's the deal; you can be honest. If you think I should revert to CupcakesandBunting say so and no-one will call you a prude here. If you'd like my present name to stay say so too. No-one will call you a potty-mouthed numpty. Also, if you couldn't give a crap, you can say so too Wink

Keep it! It's funny. And it has a swear. Swears are good for the soul, even if, like me, you don't have one.

ChaosTrulyReigns · 16/07/2011 21:17

You're probably right Buppy.

"Chaosy" is no friend of the tongue, is it?

Tchootnika · 16/07/2011 21:25

TheCuntstantLadyGardener?

Nah... Doesn't work so well. Keep it, Bup-Cunt. Tis a good name.

"I think if one feels swear words should be censored then Netmums is a suitable alternative."

I disagree with this. I don't think swearing should be censored at all from within the posts on a thread. I have always thought they should be (voluntarily) avoided in titles and user names though. That doesn't mean I need to go to the land of Tickers.

VelvetSnow · 16/07/2011 21:45

I suggest MarmaCakeCuntKins

The Cuntings - what a very lovely address:

Miss Chastity Flappings,

Little Ladyflower,
Herts.

YummyHoney · 16/07/2011 21:53

As you've asked people to be honest, I think it's a foul name. Truly awful, and everytime I "see" you I picture a real low-life chavvy sort of woman with no class whatsoever, and a lot of emotional problems, probably on benefits, with 5 kids from 5 different fathers Grin

bibbitybobbityhat · 16/07/2011 21:56

I find it unfunny and unamusing (ditto fuckmepinkandcallmerosie) but it doesn't offend me. I slightly write you both off as attention seekers.

However, I have always found Anyfucker's name to be absolutely excellent.

BitOfFun · 16/07/2011 22:02

Don't hold back, YummyHoney Grin

BupcakesandCunting · 16/07/2011 22:03

Oh yeah because being on benefits with kids with different fathers is something to be scoffed at...

OP posts:
BitOfFun · 16/07/2011 22:04

Oh, and I don't mind Bupcakes, as the name has an MN story behind it. I find Fuckmepinketc just a bit crass though, although I have no problem with the poster herself.

GreenEyesandHam · 16/07/2011 22:04

YummyHoney, no you're thinking of me...

SuePurblybilt · 16/07/2011 22:04

Yummyhoney Grin Shock. You should try to be more honest.

reelingintheyears · 16/07/2011 22:07

So....

Have you decided yet?

SeymoreButts · 16/07/2011 22:08

It doesn't bother me. I prefer it to Cupcakesandbunting, which is a bit too Cath Kidston for me.

I like Buppy, or Bupcakes, but I know the context. So in summary, I think you shouldn't change it...

Tchootnika · 16/07/2011 22:10

Really?
I see a fresh-faced, cuddly Sloane Ranger tittering away over a Wine in her Cath Kidston kitchen.
But then that's an uber-stereotype of an MNer, I suppose...

BupcakesandCunting · 16/07/2011 22:13

You might find it attention-seeking Bibbity, but my original name was soooo inoffensive and glittery-girly! This name is a bit of an ongoing joke tbh... I didn't choose it as a "look at me!" sort of thing...

I think I might update it though. Sometimes I do feel like my (excellent) advice might be being ignored on account of my name Grin

WhippedCream · 16/07/2011 22:22

the best name is wanksock followed by titsalina bumsquash
that name has crept into my subconscious and I want to shout it sometimes.
or name the fairy it for my 4yr olds story... and I sing it softly to myself

'titsalina...

Well, the consensus on here is that people like your name and that you shouldn't change it, however I'm not sure that people who dislike your name would bother to read your post/vote; so I don't think it's a true litmus test - maybe you'd get a truer picture of what people think if you walked around with a placard all day (to and from the benefits office, back and forth between one-night-stands ex-boyfriends etc.)

TheDevilsConcubine · 16/07/2011 22:28

ooh Ive just changed to this, I like it better, think it is good to update and refresh

BitOfFun · 16/07/2011 22:28

Yes, that's good.
