Okay, I know my name ruffles feathers. MNHQ sent me a (very nice) email back in February asking if I would consider changing it, I have only just seen the email Blush

I said to MNHQ that I might throw it open to a poll. They said probably not a good idea because people who would prefer me to change it might be reluctant to admit it for fear of being called a prude. So here's the deal; you can be honest. If you think I should revert to CupcakesandBunting say so and no-one will call you a prude here. If you'd like my present name to stay say so too. No-one will call you a potty-mouthed numpty. Also, if you couldn't give a crap, you can say so too Wink

I've only jyst read it properly- I thought it was Cupcakes etc anyway!!

I don't think people read names anyway - most think mine is my actual name. And it's a well known fact no proof so don't ask that only utter loons actually bother to complain about stuff like that.

I think it just screams 'look at me, look at me I used the word cunt aren't I cool and so totally edgy' when actually it just looks a little desperate. IMO.

No issue with the word cunt though, it is just a word after all and I agree cupcakesandbunting is very twee. Maybe a change is needed just to keep you all fresh.

I hate your name everytime I see it. (Sorry but I do). I have no problem with the word used in a funny or clever way,(or to decribe someone who just is one), but I never understand why anyone would use it in their name. Why ?? Just why ? I think it makes the poster (not just you op but all the ones with c*nt in their name) look silly and "look how clever and funny I am" when really it's just a bit pathetic.

AF's name though, I find sharp and classy. Can't explain why.

Please change it, it doesn't become you, as I'm sure you know Wink

I really hate swearwords in user names. it seems unnecessary and a bit "look at me, I'm so edgy and irreverent".

I don't let it affect how I interact with that person though.

I think given we're all adults it should't really be changed.

I doubt MN central are really too bothered if they just sent one email about it.

Personally i don't mind the name , if anything it gives a hint / warning :o to your posting style.

I tend to shorten it to Bups , but it does make me laugh when you take the piss out of yourself and refer to The Cuntings :)

I think if one feels swear words should be censored then Netmums is a suitable alternative.
