Okay, I know my name ruffles feathers. MNHQ sent me a (very nice) email back in February asking if I would consider changing it, I have only just seen the email

I said to MNHQ that I might throw it open to a poll. They said probably not a good idea because people who would prefer me to change it might be reluctant to admit it for fear of being called a prude. So here's the deal; you can be honest. If you think I should revert to CupcakesandBunting say so and no-one will call you a prude here. If you'd like my present name to stay say so too. No-one will call you a potty-mouthed numpty. Also, if you couldn't give a crap, you can say so too

Yes but I didn't choose the name. Springheeledjack said that my original name was too twee for me and thought that bupcakesandcunting was more suitable so I changed it for the lulz. Then I changed back and people were going "oh the cunting one is better"

I thought baps were another generic name for breasts as coined by teenage boys back in the days when i was a teenager, at least round my way that expression was used, so it just makes me think of bapcakes, if you can folow my line of thinking.

I think it's very interesting that from the point of view of language development and semantic change, the word 'cunt' isn't particularly shocking anymore. 'Fuck' used to be pretty bad, but 'cunt' really was The One You Do Not Utter. Now it's quite . And there's nothing to replace it with...or is there something worse that I don't know about? Anyway, I shall take my pretentious hat off now.
