Don't let the song put you off it is fantastic and i have scuba dived to 40mt with mine in and no mess.

catgirl1976 · 15/07/2011 18:21

Ewwww. Have issues with the mooncup notion. Makes me boak. Obviously your choice and yes, love your vagina, love it lots and lots - but no need for a song and no need for a mooncup.

spanky2 · 15/07/2011 18:24

My dss are driving me mad and that song has made my day. How funny. I couldn't cope with the gory job of emptying the contents. Thankyou Howlingbitch.Grin

Maybe you'll like it more with a Wine!

HowlingBitch · 15/07/2011 18:26

I have never scuba dived or is it scuba dove? :o but I do have horrible periods. Why all the boaking catgirl, What don't you like about them?

Bahah! You're very welcome spanky! :o

Just personal dislike. Seems like a lot of "involvment" with my menstrual flow as opposed to whipping out a tampon, flushing down the loo. Not judging them - just not for me.

Huffythetantrumslayer · 15/07/2011 18:31

You flush tampons down the loo? Fwiw I'd find a mooncup a bit icky too. I don't know why.

thisisyesterday · 15/07/2011 18:32

uh, you do know you are not supposed to flush tampons don 't you???

LDNmummy · 15/07/2011 18:34

I don't get how people have an issue with a mooncup when they don't mind stuffing a cylinder of fabric up there that will absorb the same fluids and fester.

spanky2 · 15/07/2011 18:36

I'm going to show it to my friend to take her mind of her problems next week!

SomethingProfound · 15/07/2011 18:37

Grin I found that song hilarious and will most likely be singing it after having a few to many Wine's tonight!

FuzzpigFourFiveSix · 15/07/2011 18:37

They clearly didn't do much research though - I didn't hear the word Fanjo Shock

catgirl1976 · 15/07/2011 18:38

I know its not ideal for the plumbing or environment but it is a lot more convenient for me and I am afraid on this one I do put myself first. I re-cycle, I do lots of other "good" things, but yes I do flush tampons.

HowlingBitch · 15/07/2011 18:40

Each to their own I guess. It just sounds like the answer to my prayers and it's eco friendly too which is brilliant.

Meri and LD quick question because you guys use them. Because they sit lower than a tampon does that mean you can feel them more? (Probably silly but i'm just wondering)

OP posts:
HowlingBitch · 15/07/2011 18:42

Fuzzy I'm sure I heard Fanjo somewhere!

peeriebear · 15/07/2011 18:44

I still use tampons but flushing them is so irresponsible- they end up littered all over our beaches and it's just vile :( Even in pretty unspoilt places like Robin Hood's bay is spoilt by tampons washing about in the rock pools like shitty jellyfish. Boak indeed. Put them in the damn bin!!

fluffles · 15/07/2011 18:45

can't even begin to explain how wonderful you feel with a mooncup instead of a tampon... so 'normal' on the outside like you haven't got a period at all... but some people are just too squeamish to try it.

neverontime · 15/07/2011 18:45

marking my place coz i am considering a mooncup too. i'm always scared of forgetting to take tampons out.

Takver · 15/07/2011 18:47

Howlingbitch, I can't bear tampons because of the feel, but am fine with a mooncup. It took me about 3 or 4 months to get the hang of it, but now I don't feel it at all.

neverontime · 15/07/2011 18:49

3 or 4 months? eek. what did you have to get used to?

Belini · 15/07/2011 18:49

supersonic rocket socket roflmao Grin

thisisyesterday · 15/07/2011 18:52

well next time i'm accompanied by one of your used tampons on the beach i'll bear in mind that you recycle things then catgirl.

that will definitely make it more bearable for me

disgusting.

catgirl1976 · 15/07/2011 18:55

Why are they sold as flushable?

Vivamus · 15/07/2011 18:57

That video is still not a patch on this (shame I can't find the whole clip): www.fingerinthedyke.ca/were_talking_vulva_mov.html

...and I've used a menstrual cup for about 15 years now. I really cannot describe what a load off your mind it is, and I don't want to speak for Takver, but with the plastic cups, somethimes it takes a bit of a knack to get a proper seal 'round your cervix (I highly recommend the pure rubber ones as an alternative).

basingstoke · 15/07/2011 18:58

Because they don't block your toilet. Thru should however not be flushed and go in the bin.
