Some of you may know the story about my DD.

She died aged 14, 5 years ago.

When she was dying I was sitting with her and she was reaching out and smiling.

I said to her 'what are you doing darling?'

She told me 'I am catching the butterflies mummy'

She left us soon after and ever since butterflies have been a huge part of my life. Billie was like a butterfly. Beautiful and fragile and she bought joy to anyone who knew her.

Its my birthday today it was also the Memory Day a the local children's hospice. We let off some ballons and I took a photo of Billie's.

Been laid up with some horrible bug today but am feeling better now

Its so nice that you all take time to post on my bonkers threads about my Billie.

I have to keep checking the photo to make sure its still there. I wanted to take it straight down to snappy snaps to get it blown up but was too poorly today

I am going to do it tommorow

I too believe butterflies are spiritual as when my dad was Ill with cancer and in hospital we got a phonecall from the hospital to say he wasn't going to make it. When my mum, DH and I got there we were taken into a room by the nurse to tell us he died. As soon as the nurse said it a butterfly appeared and flew to my mums face, then to mine, then flew out the window. It never went near thenurse or DH. I always like to think it had something to do with my dad

I saw 2 butterflies dancing in the air together earlier on my walk to work and I thought of you and Billie - it will always now make me think of the 2 of you

A few people I know have spoken about butterflies or flowers in a garden when they are dying- I remember the smile on my mother's face as she could see the wild flowers growing in wherever she was heading... It's a great comfort. Hugs to you. x

that is lovely - I too think butterflies are spiritual - not really had any definite experiences, but always feel very calm when they are around

feeling so moved by this...have never seen a photo with a sky like that before, am sure it's a sign from your lovely girl. I too think of her every time I see your name because she looks so radiant and special in the photos, once you see her you don't forget her.

I have heard that butterflies are a symbol of the soul. Thank you so much for sharing that, it's one of the loveliest things I've ever heard/seen on here.
