My mum just texted me to say that tomorrow there is a documentary on BBC3 at 9pm called, "Is Breast Best?".

I predict a bunfight! Grin

I better get stocked up on pop corn....Grin

YouaretooniceNOT · 11/04/2011 21:23

IMO breast is best..how many days, months, years a Mother can breastfeed her baby for is another matter..all kinds of legitimate reasons as to why not though, i guess.

Why a bunfight over that?

hairfullofsnakes · 11/04/2011 21:26

But breast is best - to try to say otherwise when there is so much evidence is just silly.

EvenLessNarkyPuffin · 11/04/2011 21:28

Breast isn't best. It's not part of the Taste the Difference range. Breast is standard - the normal way to feed a baby.

usualsuspect · 11/04/2011 21:29

I predict this thread will kick off .....

candleshoe · 11/04/2011 21:30

OMG - marking spot and setting TV to record!

hardhatdonned · 11/04/2011 21:30

It's not.

End of discussion :o

worraliberty · 11/04/2011 21:31

I wonder if it's like taking the Pepsi challenge? Grin

YouaretooniceNOT · 11/04/2011 21:31

Isn't breast feeding best becasue of anti bodies etc? (i do not know as my baby was 25 weeks when he was born so i skipped this part) Grin Sad

K999 · 11/04/2011 21:31

K999 running out now to buy pop corn as it'll probably kick off now!!>>

2plus2 · 11/04/2011 21:31

What makes it best? Bottle fed both my children, both A* pupils, no allergies and have never had antibiotics. Both have been identified as gifted and talented. How would breast feeding have made them any better.

darleneconnor · 11/04/2011 21:32

The tagline is "Cherry Healey explores the topical issue of bf. She meets a teen mum who never even considered it and a group who believe that bf is the only option."

So it sounds like there's going to be some fecking awful stereotyping of teenage mums and a polarised debate, forgetting the mix feeding majority of mums stuck in the middle.

YouaretooniceNOT · 11/04/2011 21:33

I'm learning...

Come on..who is next?

draws my vertical blinds takes cover under my brown leather sofa

hardhatdonned · 11/04/2011 21:33

The 1:1 attention between mum and baby are what make it 'best' but that can be obtained through formula feeding also.

DaydreamDollyisshrinking · 11/04/2011 21:33

They would have had a golden glow 2plus2 Grin

darleneconner is spot on.

berrieberrie · 11/04/2011 21:37

I can' beleive anyone could be interested enough to watch it. Who gives a crap what other people feed their own babies?????!!!!

Dylthan · 11/04/2011 21:37

I had seen this advertised at the weekend op and thought the same as you Grin

DuelingFanjo · 11/04/2011 21:37

the write up here suggests they are going to just look at the extremes "

'Along the way she meets Jess, a teen mum who never even considered breastfeeding and has formula-fed all the way with no worries at all, and a group of 'lactivists' who strongly believe that breastfeeding is the only option for a new mum'

I suppose they couldn't find just normal people?

GingerWrath · 11/04/2011 21:38

I honestly tried to bf but dd was really tiny and we were both getting stressed so it was ff all the way..she is now 'advanced end of normal' so not worried (smoked through pg too..preps for flamage)
