Just wondering really, how long have you had your mumsnet name?
How did you choose it?
Do you get upset or angry if someone else has a similar name to yours or posters sometimes mistake you for another poster.

Do you feel that you "own" your name and no one should have one that sounds the same.
Do you blush if your name gets googled? Grin

Also are some names more stand out then others? And what happens when a few posters have the same type of name, Eg

Mummyone mommy1 sort of thing

Wasn't boffy's standby name (that she went a bit precious about) something to do with a banjo? (this is like Mumsnet 20 questions)

WideWebWitch · 06/03/2011 00:49

Lol maryz, well that was very unhelpful then!

Nice to see you :)

My standby name was something like BanjosFanjo. I got over it though.

Oh good, I get a point then Grin.

Have been the true heroine of Malory Towers since New Year. First joined up with my own first name then realised what a stupid idea that was. Have had two other names but this is my favourite. It's going to be shite for seasonal name changes though.

I've been perusing Mumsnet for a good while now but only signed up a few days ago. Originally chose the name MissyMooBag78 but realised that there were quite a few MissyMoo's out there!

Was on the Baileys when I decided to change my username - hence AnyoneForABaileys. Haven't seen anything similar.....yet Grin

I really wish I could think of something more witty but just don't have the brains Smile

BitOfFun · 06/03/2011 01:08

Tortington · 06/03/2011 01:11

GwendolineMaryLacey · 06/03/2011 01:11

BitterAndTwistedChickHatcher · 06/03/2011 01:13

Custy, you strike me as the "kinda gal" who likes custard on her tits. WinkGrin

Have been on MN since 2004 as YeahBut. Just fancied a change, really.
Am feeling a bit world weary atm so the name seemed to fit!

SlightlyJaded · 06/03/2011 01:20

Mine is just what I am.

Friends in RL used to laugh at me saying I saw everything through rose tinted glasses. Then 'life' happened and I became jaded. But only slightly :)

I name change occasionally for very personal posts but try to stick to being SJ most of the time in the interests of consistency, but in all honesty nobody knows who I am so I am probably over thinking it a bit.

SlightlyJaded · 06/03/2011 01:20

Oh and been on MN about 2 years

Well it sums me up nicely then Beer

It was either that or ButIfIEatTheseBiscuitsReallyFastSurelyTheyWontCount?

That too would have summed me up well Grin

CointreauVersial · 06/03/2011 01:27

I've only been here for about a year, and my original name was lame, and quite frankly, wishful thinking (TheNextMrsDepp).

Then I read about a new cocktail being served in some posh London hotel, and thought....hmmm....that would make a good MN name.

Not seen any similar, quite a few alcohol-themed, though...
