Mumsnet Names

Just wondering really, how long have you had your mumsnet name?
How did you choose it?
Do you get upset or angry if someone else has a similar name to yours or posters sometimes mistake you for another poster.

Do you feel that you "own" your name and no one should have one that sounds the same.
Do you blush if your name gets googled? Grin

Also are some names more stand out then others? And what happens when a few posters have the same type of name, Eg

Mummyone mommy1 sort of thing

Havent seen anyone with a similar one to mine yet. Have had it a few months, I name change now & again. I am glaikit, therefore the name.

gapbear - I came from another site and wanted a different username. I found it really hard to think of one, as I had 'become' my username on t'other site. I cast my eyes around the room and saw DS2's discarded school uniform polo shirt, which came from Gap and had on it a little bear. History was made

I have been Undercovamutha for about 3 years, after being 'exposed' in RL!!! Hence the name! I had a few other names for a year or 2 before.

I very regularly get mistaken for another poster (Undercovermother I presume!).A few times a month someone on MN asks me 'UCM is that you?' !

I've been here just over a year and had this name for all but one anon thread over that time. It is quite dull though so I'm trying to think of a new one.

I think I've had this name for a month or so. I'd like to namechange less but then a good name strikes me, I baggsy it, post and then never seem to go back to the old one.

Yellowdinosaur, I'd be intrigued to know your funny story. At the moment I'm having major concerns I might know you!

I had another name for my first week, got horribly flamed as a newbie and ran away. Came back a month later with this one and stuck with it.

I daresay nobody has googled me, i'm the sort of person who posts when I can answer a question or if I need some info, or I chat sometimes. But I don't get into controversial stuff.

The name suits me personally and musically!

My horse's farrier calls me this, we were talking about what I should change my RL name to. He asked what animal I would like to be and I said a manatee as they are vegetarians, and have no major predators, and just hang around in warm water. I have a horse hence equine, can't remember the O'Hara part, but he has since changed this to Lovegood because I am apparently not unlike Luna.

I saw another Manatee here the other day.

I namechange every few months

currently inspired by Karl Pilkington, wanted
headlikeafuckingorange but people get so upset about sweary names that it wasn't worth the hassle
