Multiculturalism has failed

Now whilst i believe the debate itself has merit ( though think that DC has put a rather disturbing anti islamic slant on it)
I do not think it the wisest day to do so given that there is a planned march by the English Defence League (think BNP with more hair) today

march in Luton

So starlight given this is a mother's forum you are one of only a few people on this thread who's kid's I'd invite on a play date.

FFS - who was it who said that she'd ensure her kids didn't get exposure to the maintstream. Obviously I wouldn't invite her (as being British I'm too lowly).

I obviously wouldn't invite kids of white PC people who feel that white people are racist (they are white people but not english so feel exempt lol) (very offensive to my father also ) as they couln't accept that mixed race and religion people have an OK life in the UK.

And I couldn't invite 'really' white racist proper ENGLISH people (that's all of them innit?) people's kids (as my kid has about 5 backgrounds).

Are we not wanted? Goodness we don't seem to fit into any bloody category but strangely I don't feel anything else but BRITISH. Don't you Starlight and without being apologists?

mrsgetonwithit · 06/02/2011 18:21

What a load of tosh being spouted on here.

chibi · 06/02/2011 18:21

what is the tosh you are referring to?

StarlightPrincess · 06/02/2011 18:25

Oh that was the lovely LadyOfTheManor, who said that giveitago!

Your post sums up perfectly how I feel, I couldn't have put it better myself!

I just feel English. If anyone asks me what I am, without even thinking, I say English. Because that is what I am first and foremost. England is my country of birth and my home. Yet, I'm supposedly not supposed to say that, I'm supposed to have to define my racial background.

gordyslovesheep · 06/02/2011 18:26

Blimey Giveitago would you like some vinegar for that large chip Grin

gordyslovesheep · 06/02/2011 18:27

who says you can't say you are English?

mrsgetonwithit · 06/02/2011 18:28

bringnbuy · 06/02/2011 18:29

it's ok soft', i didn't think you were implying that your dp was superior, i didn't read it that way. funny you should mention b&q, one of the places i see alot of eu chaps in the morning is outside a local'ish wicks!!

StarlightPrincess · 06/02/2011 18:30

How has she got a chip on her shoulder Gordy? You are seriously boring me with your PC rubbish.

I am talking about people who ask me what I am, then look at me funnily because I haven't said 'Oh I'm half this, half that'. Why should it matter?

StarlightPrincess · 06/02/2011 18:31

I get it all the time, by the way.

giveitago · 06/02/2011 18:33

Worry - what large chip GORDY?

I have no idea. The first and only time I was accused of having chip on my shoulder was a while back by a white person (not english) - and she was laughed out of the company as I remember.

usualsuspect · 06/02/2011 18:34

Has mrsgetonwithit escaped from the EDL.com

bringnbuy · 06/02/2011 18:36

star - do you really get lots of crap from people because you are mixed race? maybe i have just mixed in laid back circles all these years but i didn't think (other than obvious racist types) that people would make a big deal about it anymore, there are alot of people in ie london who are mixed. so stupid that people would care enough to comment on it in a negative way. what's it got to do with them. i have known/know so many people made up of various mixes, what does it matter. i am sorry you have that from people.

mrsgetonwithit · 06/02/2011 18:38

I would not believe that nobody on here agrees with me.

softglowsandmaybes · 06/02/2011 18:42

Mrsgetonwithit, you are showing yourself up now luv

StarlightPrincess · 06/02/2011 18:43

No, I don't get crap from them, not at all. I've only ever experienced racial abuse once, and that was like water of a duck's back to me.

WhatI don't like is the fact that people, by asking me that, want to compartmentalise me into a box so they feel more comfortable. Not everyone, some are just genuinely curious. But I can tell the difference between the two.

dobiegirl · 06/02/2011 18:43

why is she showing herself up if those are her views - WHO ARE YOU?

usualsuspect · 06/02/2011 18:45

'WHO ARE YOU' err who the fuck are you?

dobiegirl · 06/02/2011 18:46

what the fucks it got to do with you?
