I think if we could get over the delusion that Britain still has an empire it'd be a huge step in the right direction.

No more need to prance around 'punching above our weight' on the 'world stage' and wasting zillions on nuclear weapons and other people's stupid wars. Just an acceptance that we're a third-rate European country with an okay standard of living, that no other nation really gives a toss about. And that that's okay, really it is.

No more need to play Lady Bountiful and 'smugly indestructible host culture' to anyone who turns up here, just an acceptance that there's a finite amount of money available. And that that's also okay.

And no need to pander to nutcases like Nick Griffin and their plaintive cries about 'making Britain great again'. Because we can have a nice place to live without all this 'great' business, and that would be okay too.

Firstly - RUBBISH - I am not responsible for the wars the LIEBOUR government took us into - Personally I don't think one British soldiers life is worth losing in one of them hell holes so I certainly don't feel responsible for those that traipse all the way through Europe to get to Britain for asylum

59 thousands Poles came to the uk in 2008 - the biggest number of immigrants from EU countries

42 thousand BRITISH people went to SPAIN, 3,500 to Holland, 1,500 to Cyprus so it kind of balances out

My point is if you are going to start baning on about immigration you need to consider migration as well do you not think all the Brits in Spain have an impact on Spanish culture and tradition
