Come hither all those who haven't found their place on mumsnet, have scrapped in Aibu or crossed words in chat. The buddy bench shalt not judge.

The buddy bench will hand out wine and cakes, it will join you on your scoffathons getting pissed

All those who sit on the bench, will have their sins erased and be given a warm welcome and cheerful chat from CheerfulYank, gomummy, tired mum, Elmo, AF, HE, Cheesey and far, far too many more to mention.

Welcome to the buddy bench, we look forward to meeting you all Smile

Oh and don't forget, last one to leave polishes bench and locks up!

Gomummy, you will probably know this- how essential is parchment paper, if a recipe calls for it?

I'm making cookies tomorrow for my Glee marathon/St. Pat's day fest and apparently I need it? Would lightly oiled pans work as well?

CheerfulYank · 17/03/2011 05:11

Shamrock Shamrock Shamrock

Out and about today but had to pop in and wish you all happy St. Patrick's Day!!!

Loving the hair Cheerful! Suits you! Must be really different looking in the mirror! Oh and sometimes the parchment paper is really important Cheerful, depending on the recipe. Sometimes it's just useful or makes things easier. It stops things from sticking, that's all in most cases. ie. if you're making parmesan crisps to go on a caesar salad, you'd need it to keep them from becoming part of the pan...but for cookies or anything like that a lightly oiled pan (maybe lightly floured on the oil) would be fine.

Will send you a pm when we get home tonight Tiredmum!

Hope you have a great dinner out tonight Elmo!

Shamrock Shamrock Shamrock [green beer] Nope, didn't work. Grin

elmofan · 17/03/2011 19:07

We went to the parade this morning gomummy but just as it ended DH's job rang asking him to go into work so we didn't get to go out to dinner in the end , but at least he gets 3 days pay seeing as its a bank holiday , and we will go out for dinner at the weekend instead Smile .

candleshoe · 18/03/2011 10:01

Happy Red Nose Day

Sent my 3 off to school dressed up. One DTS as a cowboy, the other DTS as a builder and DD chose to just be 'all-in-red'!

I am supposed to be baking cakes this morning for a sale at the school gate at pick up time ... but I am not a keen baker. I am a good cook but can't really be bothered with cakes. (Like eating them tho')

Anyone else doing "Something Funny for Money?"

elmofan · 18/03/2011 15:52

Hello

How did your cake sale go candle ?

I am having a very bad day Sad Ive got a thread in chat www.mumsnet.com/Talk/_chat/1174538-Having-a-bad-day?msgid=24403494#24403494

gomummygo · 18/03/2011 17:28

Aww, Elmo that is a bad day. :( for you and DS. It must be so very difficult for you to cope with, gut wrenching. I hope the martial arts thing works out. Makes me so Angry for your DS.

Too bad the police officer couldn't have given you a bit of a break, that's not exactly street racing you were doing!

Snow is starting to melt here a bit (fingers crossed) so hopefully this is the beginning of the end of winter for us.

What are all you lovely benchers planning for the weekend?

valiumredhead · 18/03/2011 17:35

Oooo yanky (see what I did to your name there? Grin) I DO like your hair - it's really nice!

Elmo - just about to read your thread.

valiumredhead · 18/03/2011 17:41

I have posted on your thread elmo. Is it the same little shitboy who keeps hurting your ds? Have you written your letter yet to go with his new school application? x

valiumredhead · 18/03/2011 17:42

Oh bother - strikeouts didn't work!

elmofan · 18/03/2011 18:00

Thanks Smile

It was one of those parked vans with the camera out of the back window that caught me Sad
The boy that kicked ds in school was not x but was x's friend iykwim .
I spoke to the new head at the meeting last week Valium & he assured me that he will be in contact with ds's principal & he will do his best to keep both boys apart . now we just have to wait & see .

CheerfulYank · 18/03/2011 18:21

Ok, I almost never say this but:

THOSE LITTLE FUCKERS.

Why won't they leave him alone? What enjoyment can they possibly be getting out of it?! Angry

Sorry about the driving thing too, and your poor puppy.

CheerfulYank · 18/03/2011 18:22
