Come hither all those who haven't found their place on mumsnet, have scrapped in Aibu or crossed words in chat. The buddy bench shalt not judge.

The buddy bench will hand out wine and cakes, it will join you on your scoffathons getting pissed

All those who sit on the bench, will have their sins erased and be given a warm welcome and cheerful chat from CheerfulYank, gomummy, tired mum, Elmo, AF, HE, Cheesey and far, far too many more to mention.

Welcome to the buddy bench, we look forward to meeting you all Smile

Oh and don't forget, last one to leave polishes bench and locks up!

Morning all.
Tiredmum, I might be able to help you narrow down what pram you need. I used to work in a baby shop (goods, not the real thingShock). On mat leave now.
Are you rural or urban?
Do walk or car for school run of other DC's?
Do you have an existing stage 1 car seat (might be able to get in to a pram)?
Do you regularly use public transport?
Do you regularly walk off road?
Do want a lie flat seat unit or carrycot or not bothered?
Is it important to you that baby can face you for as long as you both want, or ok to face forward after a few (4-6) months?
Take it you are looking for a single pram, let me know if you need a double?
Hopefully that will help narrow a few options down for you.

CheerfulYank · 03/02/2011 16:06

Hi five!

I'm also feeling girl, but who knows? I'm just in love with the name Poppy I think :)I'm so excited!

I had an epidural, it was the most fabulous business of my life. I was in love with the dr who administered it and wanted to name the baby after him. Next time I will arrange to get mine in the parking lot if possible! :o

LOL at your DS gomummy. The sounds like something my DS would say. He was up sobbing inconsolably all night :( and complaining about his ears. I spoke to the dr and she said that it's not uncommon after a rough case of strep, since the swelling of the tonsils prevents the ears from draining like they should and leads to infection. :( Poor little man! We just cannot get him healthy and I'm at my wit's end! DH is home with him today; I've missed soooo much work already. I'm trying to figure out how we could cut back enough to make up what I make at my job so I can quit. I'm just feeling really discouraged at work lately and would like to be done with the whole business. :(

fiveisanawfullybignumber · 03/02/2011 16:27

Oh Cheerful, Strep throat is awful! DS2 had it and Scarlet Fever when he was 5. He was ill for months, couldn't get rid of the bacteria at all. In fact ended up having his tonsils out 15m later. Really feeling for him.Sad
I'm due back from mat leave in a month or two, just trying to work out if we can afford for me not to go back. DD was so poorly at first, I only feel like I've really gotten to know her in the last couple of months. I think we can survive for a while with a bit less, just to allow me to concentrate on the DC's a bit more. They're only young once.

elmofan · 03/02/2011 16:27

Hugs Cheerful Sad sorry to hear your ds is still poorly - its so stressful when they are sick and poor you as i'm guessing you didn't get much sleep last night Sad
Hope you all have a better nights sleep tonight xx

gomummygo · 03/02/2011 17:48

Aww Cheerful, poor DS and poor you. It is so horrible when they are ill. DS went through a period last fall of illness after illness and I was beside myself, really feel for you. :(

If you are serious about trying to make up what you make at your job and quit, I'm full of suggestions (read every book and resource on the subject and put much of it into practise before walking away from my career), pm me if you want to. I made over half of our income, so it meant a lot of changes.

CheerfulYank · 03/02/2011 18:16

Oooh, scones! Those do cheer me up, thanks elmo! :)

fiveisanawfullybignumber · 03/02/2011 19:05

gomummygo, could I ask for some advice on that too. Things are going to be very stretched here if I don't go back. Currently selling everything that's not nailed down on Ebay in an attempt to make some money.

gomummygo · 03/02/2011 19:53

LOL, Five, I just sent Cheerful a note that included ebaying "everything that is not nailed down!" Great minds. :) I will pm you.

Tiredmumno1 · 03/02/2011 21:10

Teaandcakeplease · 04/02/2011 14:06

OP posts:
Tiredmumno1 · 04/02/2011 15:56

gomummygo · 04/02/2011 17:06

WineWineWine

valiumredhead · 04/02/2011 17:14

Ooooooooooo a wine glass Wine I want a cup of tea emoticon as well Grin

elmo it was really windy here last night and our roof and windows were making spooky wooooo wooooo noises - Marchlands was NOT a good thing for me to watch!!! That bit with the doll in the bath! Shock

Tiredmumno1 · 04/02/2011 17:14

Dont know gomummy, i only saw them today, they look so cute Grin

elmofan · 04/02/2011 19:09

lol Valium we have the same here , gales of 120 miles & rain but must admit it added to the atmosphere of watching a marchlands Grin
Yes the doll in the bath was very creepy

We have just got home from the cinema , we went to see "Tangled" & it was very very good Smile
tea & tiredmum try see the first episode on the UTV player because its a five part drama so you can catch up before next week .
Although tiredmum its a bit creepy as there is a pregnant lady in it who seems to be becoming haunted by images of a dead child so not sure if it would upset you as it would kind of unsettle me to watch that if i was pregnant but then again i'm a wimp . Blush

< Waves to gomummy & cheerful>

Teaandcakeplease · 04/02/2011 19:49

Hmm sounds too creepy for me

Love the new wine emoticon.

I'm so Envy as I want to see Tangeled. I'm waiting for my bank account to recover from the Armageddon which is the first week of the month and millions of direct debits leaving...

OP posts:
elmofan · 04/02/2011 20:11

I know what you mean tea, we had very little money left last month after paying off lots of bills
The bills seem to come in the door all together which is a PITA, but the movie is very good Smile

Tiredmumno1 · 04/02/2011 22:16

Oh blimey elmo i may give that a miss then lol, it sounds creepy, it would probably give me nightmares

CheerfulYank · 05/02/2011 01:46

I can't wait to see Tangled either! I didn't take DS to it because we didn't get it at the cinema I work at and I find it very hard to go to theaters when I have to pay :)

valiumredhead · 05/02/2011 16:02

I want to see TANGLED, but ds is 9 and apparently it's 'girly' Shock
