@myghastisflabbered hope your sleeping improves. Theres nothing worse than no sleep is there x
I have set a new mini goal on my dry app
Id set it as 30 days which i set twice which i passed yay! So just set myself a new 40 day challenge now to take me.up to 100 days. The thought of having a drink now makes me feel a bit sick. I just imagine how bad my body would feel now if i.started drinking again its just not worth it for me x

Just checking in again. You lot have been busy! I love that early morning photo. That's my real motive for staying dry. Getting up bright and early is such a win.

Hi all! I feel like I deserve a medal tonight, DP cracked a bottle of white (my poison of choice) and I didn't crack! How's everyone else doing?

Report

teelizzy · 03/03/2021 22:12

Well done @showmethegin

@Haggisfish hope your day 1 went well.

Had a pretty low week last week but stuck to my moderation goal and rolled into this week in a better space.

Everyone else: thanks for being here and keeping me accountable. I do feel so much better for not sinking into a bottle of wine nearly evening.

Thanks. My day one went well but day two went pear shaped!🤣 am back on it tomorrow. I’m glad I can now take days off inbetween at least. Never used to be the case.

Hmm well I drank about ten units last night but am going to keep a March tally here. I am concentrating on the fact that if I stay AF for the next week then that doesn’t look so bad.

The wine witch is already beckoning. Got a child-free evening and no clinic tomorrow so I could have a lie in. WW is yelling at me to make the most of it.

I had to fend her off earlier too, if there was wine in the house I'd have caved. How did you get on myghast?

PeacheyPeach · 05/03/2021 21:41

@myghastisflabbered imagine having a lovely lie in tomorrow and not feeling rough though 😉

I'm still dry so far. And feeling good because DP bought wine. It's still in the fridge unopened.

Well done all.well done myghastisflabbered - you get a nice day!
I caved while cooking, so no sleep and feel blurgh. Why do I do it? It all seems so entirely reasonable at 6 pm and so crap later on. Was doing so well in January too. Tonight! Tonight I will NOT a drink!

@MyGhastIsFlabbered hope you're feeling a bit better now. It's so easy to pour one glass and then suddenly the whole bottle is gone.

For me, I think the running is really helping me to stay off the booze. I've been trying to run every other day and it's giving me something to focus on. And it's making me feel really good so I don't want to drink and feel all groggy and rubbish. Do you want to join me for some runs this week? I'm hoping to get out tomorrow morning.

Report

Haggisfish · 07/03/2021 13:32

I’ll join you in some runs! I’ve not done very well on staying dry lately but spring is inspiring me!

I'm feeling better now but felt really dreadful. Just been out for a walk on the downs.
Definitely up for joining you for a run tomorrow morning @wintertime6. Are you on Strava?

Ooooh I am! Can we pm names or set up a group? That’s a great idea. If you don’t mind me inviting myself along!Blush

I think we just forget its going to make us feel rubbish once we are a glass down doesnt it. Its like childbirth, you forget about the pain until the next time!!!
Maybe if you know youve got some exercise planned your not likely to drink as who wants to do anything with a hangover!

I'm not on strava @MyGhastIsFlabbered is it free to join?

Report

MyGhastIsFlabbered · 07/03/2021 16:20

@wintertime6 basic Strava is free - there is a premium subscription that you pay for but I've never bothered. My partner does though

I can PM you my name @PeacheyPeach and you can try and find me on Strava?
