Thanks all you super supportive people ☺️ Not craving at all tonight and can’t wait to mark my app ‘dry’ once again.

CandyLeBonBon · 16/01/2021 18:09

That's brilliant @goldpendant - mindsets are slowly changing! Well done Smile

Goodiebagh · 16/01/2021 18:41

I mark dry first thing in the morning! Like, im not drinking today. Haven't cheated yet! Had an awful dentist appointment today which has made me fully realise how much acidity ive been consuming in my drinks and for prolonged periods of time (as well as a mostly healthy diet also full of fruit acid) so i feel doubly bad.... and another reason to DJ and then moderate Halo

MoonBaby1 · 16/01/2021 19:19

I really looking forward to drinking again Blush. Not the 60 units I was putting away before but limiting myself to 21 per week. I really think I’ve reset how I control it but blimey I can’t wait for dry Jan to finish.

The issue is I don’t feel or look different so I’m not reaping the benefits outwardly.

MoonBaby1 · 16/01/2021 19:21

Who else on here has young children or is looking to start/expand their family?

CandyLeBonBon · 16/01/2021 19:22

I do the same @Goodiebagh - it kind of sets the my intention for the day! I just bought a tesco finest meal deal and ignored the wine and got the sparkling elderflower pressé instead! I'm feeling very virtuous!

MyGhastIsFlabbered · 16/01/2021 19:22

Hello everyone. Sorry I've been a bit absent. Been a difficult few days. More arguing with DP...I honestly can't remember the last day he didn't make me cry. I know it's because he's depressed, and that the man I fell in love with is in there...but I don't know how much more I can take.

Anyway, I helped out at my first COVID vaccine clinic today so feel like I'm helping out in some small way to getting out of this pandemic.

I'd kill for a fucking drink if I'm honest, I'm really struggling but I have AF Prosecco and this will pass.

Hope everyone else is doing better than me. We'll get through this.

@MyGhastIsFlabbered sending Flowers. All my love.

Blessex · 16/01/2021 19:34

Ps my DH lives in another country and I cannot see him due to this shit storm. Relationships now are difficult. Very difficult

MoonBaby1 · 16/01/2021 19:35

It will pass Ghast but I know exactly how you feel. You’re doing so well and we’ll done on the COVID front too Flowers

My dh is depressed too but will not seek any kind of help. He seems to have a go right before bed every evening. He’s cut down massively on booze and weed since the last lockdown when his liver and lungs had enough and he ended up in hospital a (still daily, still about 7-10 units and a few spliffs) but is a tense knobhead in the evening and has to let it out Hmm. Is your dh getting help?

CandyLeBonBon · 16/01/2021 20:35

I'm so sorry @MyGhastIsFlabbered - if you need an ear, I'm sure we're all happy to listen. Mh issues are difficult for partners to live with. Are you getting support in RL? Sorry it feels so shit for you. Thanks

CandyLeBonBon · 16/01/2021 20:36

Hi all xx Day 16 .
Did a workout and then went for a walk with the kids this afternoon x Had a bit of a pamper evening. ( well shaved me legs and had a longer bath that usual!!) And just had a lovely takeout which usually means glass or two or three! But got no.desire to.have a drink which I'm made up about.

CoronaIsWatching · 16/01/2021 21:53

Is it too early for bed

supercee · 16/01/2021 21:59

Pleased to report I did not cave and my two becks blue took the edge off. Way over on the calories today but one battle at a time. I too had a bath and shaved my legs (woooo!). Will head to bed shortly but already chuffed that I know I'll be waking up clear-headed and can tick another alcohol free day off the list.

Sorry to you both for having a shitty time with partners. Hopefully tomorrow is a new better day.

MoonBaby1 · 16/01/2021 22:12

supercee well done Star. I was in the becks blue and bath but definitely couldn’t be bothered to shave!

mrsnibblesisahero · 16/01/2021 22:14

Sorry to everyone who is having a tough time. I'm not too bad, still a day behind on 15, and today was toughest since about day 4. Just really fancied it.

But... got through watching late football, normally would always drink for an evening match. Had very cold becks blue, my first AF lager, and it felt pretty real to be honest. Almost felt like cheating!

It was good. But its the wine I really miss. And the roast challenge tomorrow, going to struggle again!

Backtoblack1 · 16/01/2021 23:07

Can I join please? I’m on day 17 today but I have found it harder today than any other. I’m bored and have PMT. think that is why x

CandyLeBonBon · 16/01/2021 23:19

Well done @supercee Smile

CandyLeBonBon · 16/01/2021 23:19

Hi @Backtoblack1 welcome aboard Smile

OhioOhioOhio · 17/01/2021 00:33

I thought I looked better but just checked a December photo for now and I look awful now. So depressing.

goldpendant · 17/01/2021 00:41

@OhioOhioOhio I bet you don't.

I reckon for some of us (dare I say older ones??) I wonder if things like weight will take longer to show any effect from not drinking?

I've definitely got a very pillowy tummy to lose still but my face is slowly deflating.

OhioOhioOhio · 17/01/2021 01:08

goldpendant

Thank you. I definitely feel better and I know I've lost a bit of bloat, gained more energy etc. But still, that picture...

Amdone123 · 17/01/2021 01:35

Yay ! Day 16 and feeling great. Am awake now obviously but it's ok- am not doing anything tomorrow!
Thanks for the af drinks reminders y'all. Af perroni is very good. I've had Bavaria from home bargains- it's cheaper too under £2. I prefer af beer to af wine as I feel that the wine triggers my craving if that makes sense. As I don't drink beer, I have nothing to measure it against so no expectations. I saw seedlip in Holland and Barrett- 99p for a small bottle. Also Ginish £9.99 - that looked good. I think I will go back and buy.
I've lost 5lbs in 2 weeks but the non scale victories are the best - better skin, no smoking, masses of energy and generally feeling happier. Keep going folks- you're doing great x

Humphriescushion · 17/01/2021 08:14

Day 17! Is getting easier but today will be a test - am going to friends for lunch and normally would enjoy a few glasses of wine ( and the bloody rest!) so will be hard. Going to hate saying no to each glass but am determined not to fail.
Sorry some of you are having are hard time, @ myghast cant imagine how hard that must be for you. Your work sounds so worthwhile.
@ corona keep posting on here, i too find the days long and have little interaction normally.
