Found you!! Lol 😂 moving into day 10 for me! Wishing you all a great AF week!

Checking in on the new thread. I have stayed dry, enjoyed a Sunday roast yesterday and thanks to also watching what I eat I have also lost 5.25lbs since 4th Jan ( I had my last drink on the 2nd but forgot to weigh myself until the 4th).
I really want to stick with it as Christmas was very fun and indulgent and I pretty much had whatever I fancied. A month of AF and healthy eating will do me a lot of good.

Phew! Found you! There was gin winking at me in the kitchen. I nearly panicked because I couldn't find the new thread! Blush

Well folks I've had my COVID vaccination today so feeling a bit rubbish. Need to head to the supermarket soon and will try to keep away from unhealthy food as well as wine.

Great to see most have got through the weekend, I did too. Those who didn’t don’t be hard on yourselves. There but for the grace of my god, go I. DH kept asking me if I want a glass of wine. I stayed strong. Great to still be going at the start of week 2. Unheard of for me. It has come to light that the DC (20 somethings) and DH have a sweep stake going as to when I will crack. Halo am not going to. Have a great week everyone. Also, I tick the app quite early, it keeps me on the straight and narrow whilst cooking the evening meal. X

Sorry to hear you feel rubbish myghast, hope it gets better soon. Stay strong around the supermarket and think how healthier we must be after no alcohol.

Re weight loss, I feel people's pain - currently going the wrong way despite regular exercise (averaging 15,000 steps a day, calorie count around 1600 and no booze for 5 out of 7 days) I put on 2lbs. Repeat the fitter, stronger mantra....

The benefits seem to be kicking in at last. Face definitely less puffy and skin clearer. Did a work Zoom call without make up which I would never have done before!
Now to start on adding in some exercise to shift some flab

Hi all I'm the same, really struggling to get out of bed, this morning I couldn't open my eyes, fortunately DH was up and got kids sorted for school! Yet normally I can drink a bottle of wine and get up no bother. Do you think this is usual!?

Day 12 for me. Not much to report. Just quietly getting on with work, not drinking. I still have some acid reflux which is annoying as I thought mine was completely caused by alcohol. Last dry january it went away completely during the month.

Sorry, day 11 for me. Wishful thinking aha

Day 11 here too, have at least one overpowering urge for a drink every day but its passing off. No weight loss but for the last few days I think I am sleeping better and feeling more energetic.

Day 11 - did a 3am-7am supermarket shift this morning, then did a couple of shoots and spent the afternoon editing and writing. No WAY would I have been able to do all of that after a bottle of wine! Sober me gets shit done!

For anyone who wants to try kombucha and is worried that it will taste like fermented tea (which is what it is) I very much recommend the brand Lo Bros (especially the raspberry and lemon flavour), it is delicious. Also very low in sugar/calories. I love all kombucha and have drunk it for years, but this brand is great for an introduction as it does not taste as "kombucha-ish" as some others....

Checking in for day 11. Craving like crazy at about 5:30 everyday. Amazingly my daily drinking dh is being really supportive and talking me down. I feel more spotty and bloated than ever but I think it’s pretty menstural.

@PeacheyPeach yes that is me too! Can drink a bottle (or more) of wine and can get up ok. Feel a bit groggy but up. Now I can barely prise myself out of bed. It’s so weird.

Cooked spaghetti with crab tonight and it needed white wine. Nearly panicked but sloshed in some of the trusty 0% eisberg - probably better in cooking than drinking honestly Grin. Ate the pasta with the rest of the bottle. My kids are trying to catch me out too @TimeForMe2020 - my DS said he has a 50 pound bet I cannot do it. Now have a zero Gordon’s and tonic. Am sure I am ruining the calories with full sugar tonic and zero wine but at the moment I can live with that. Super impressed and slightly envious of the 5.25lb @123orbust
