frouby "am still fat but can nod off" Love it. I'm skinny but apparently a crap sleeper these days. Sympathies to those feeling the effects this morning. frouby it's interesting that you say - keeping moderate due to not coping with hangovers. How does that work though? There is a tipping point at which I just can't make myself care. Do you just not reach that point?

blissa1 · 26/09/2019 08:47

Morning all !! How is everyone? Out of curiosity has anyone ever done at home liver function test ? 🤔xx

leavingAqaba · 26/09/2019 08:47

x-cross flossie what's the weekend plan?

NC4Now · 26/09/2019 14:00

You're on page two already!! I'm always late to the new thread, aren't I?
I am hungover. I don't know why. It's possible the bottle of wine I had last night is responsible, but that can't be it, surely?
I don't usually have a hangover off a bottle of wine. Maybe my body is trying to tell me something.

Longest I hear you about the rule of law. I'm pretty sure there are prisons full of men who think the judges have got it wrong. In fact, I've seen a few today.

Do you know where you are going yet Flossie? I'm looking after my friend's boy next weekend while she gets whisked away for a surprise 40th birthday treat by her husband. I'd love to be surprise whisked somewhere.

Dion how are the hormones?

Sorry for everyone I've missed. In my hungover state my brain can't retain any information. Luckily I got a new phone today. I must absolutely, definitely, not drop this one down the bog.

Dionysa · 26/09/2019 14:23

NC4 and Madame, we should have a threesome siesta. Grin

Blissa, I haven't done one, but I have wondered about them. I think I'd be a bit scared.

Had to have a sit down in Tesco earlier because I felt so awful (hangover, not hormones - the hormones seem to be settling down, though could still cry with nipple pain).

Flossie, I'm glad the DDs are improving and that you are going away. You definitely need a break.

Frouby, I think you're wise to avoid rivers ATM!!

leavingAqaba · 26/09/2019 14:31

Dion I get that nipple thing too, my sympathies.

Frouby · 26/09/2019 14:34

leaving I know my limits! I know I can have 3 x 25ml gins, half a bottle of wine or 3 beers before I feel the effects the next day. 1 more glass of wine, or 1 more gin, or 1 more beer and I feel it until about 10am, 2 more and I am rough until teatime.

It helps as well that I hate feeling drunk. I either get really giddy and stupid or more recently, get annoyed with someone. Usually they deserve it but I hate waking up the next day and thinking I might have said something because I am drunk.

Have absolutely shit miracles today. Been to BabyPony and put a new set of gears in her on the lunge. Now dd doesn't want to ride I can set her up for me and I much prefer a pingy pony. So that was fun, especially as she is very clever and learns stuff really quickly. Then did some banking on the way home, picked a passport application form up for ds. Called at allotment to feed chooks and ended up clearing a couple of beds for winter. Got home, worked for an hour, had lunch and still had an hour left til school run. So transferred all the business paperwork from A4 binders on a bookcase to box files in living room cabinet. Still loads to do before I can replace bookcase with a kalax but it's a good start.

Off to my mams now after schoolrun. And dd now needs a lift to and from dragon boating as cousin isn't training as her shoulder is buggered. So will be dry until at least 7.30pm at least.

Frouby, that sounds like a good day. Baby Pony sounds gorgeous.

I'm not sure I really like feeling drunk, either. I like the initial hit, but then I get fed up with myself (doesn't stop me carrying on, though Confused). Still I will be dry tonight because of the hangover. Was going to have what you would call a nan nap, but decided to struggle on and go to bed early instead.

longestlurkerever · 26/09/2019 17:42

Gosh Frouby i have no idea what half of that means but sounds very impressive!

I have never had a liver test, home or otherwise.

Eek i have got an interview for jobshare promotion thing. Properly scared of making a fool of myself plus it is the day after my birthday so will have to spend birthday on very moderate interview prep! .

NC4Now · 26/09/2019 18:28

I was hoping for a nana nap today too but sadly work. And now gym. I’ve got tv to catch up on too but I doubt I’ll get time.
At least I’ll be dry.

Waterandlemonjuice · 26/09/2019 18:29

Flossie, I’m sorry for your loss. And for that massive list of shit you have to deal with 💐

Madame, that house is lovely, I could live in it, blissfully alone!

I was tempted to drink tonight as I felt tearful after taking ds back, not sure why, hormones probably, but I have taken to mu bed instead. So this is day 3 AF this week, I’m reasonably happy with that. And total 12 days AF in September.

leavingAqaba · 26/09/2019 18:33

frouby I have a good idea of my limits too (although I think it does vary, I slip up sometimes over a long day in the sun and not being properly hydrated from the outset) but knowing them and caring about them in the moment are not the same thing for me. Unfortunately.
Is the interview far off longest?

longestlurkerever · 26/09/2019 19:04

It"s on Wednesday leaving. And also Monday - i have to get grilled by a staff panel first! Hence the fear.

Frouby · 26/09/2019 20:44

Good luck Longest, I am always of the opinion that jobs either happen because they should happen, or they shouldn't. And what will be, will be. Saves me getting stressed lol.

Was teaching BabyPony different speeds basically, and playing around with her stride. So making her keep them same tempo but go further by taking bigger steps, then shortening the stride but keeping the speed by making her use her hocks more. Like what the fancy dressage horses do, but a shaggy pony and a fat 40 something playing at being Charlottw Dujardin stood in the middle 🤣🤣🤣.

Was fun though, she can certainly ping when she wants to.

Dry tonight, first time for too many days. Had sausage and mash and Yorkshire puddings with veg for dinner, was lovely and am not usually a sausage fan. Going to have a shower and go to bed and read for an hour.

Saw my dozy sister at my mams. Her boys are nearly 7 and 1. She's a very laid back parent. Her 7 year old is very loud and boisterous, makes my ds look like a bloody angel.

Bed time, yay, yay, yay. AF, not surprisingly.

Frouby, I think I need you to look after me for a bit. I had some prawns and some Wotsits for dinner this evening.

Longest, that sounds v scary.

Leaving, 12 days is good. Nearly half the month!

longestlurkerever · 26/09/2019 22:18

AF too! Dh is out so is easier. We are away this weekend too. Booked a random weekend in Suffolk because there was a half price offer on youth hostels. Rock n roll. Looking forward to it really but now need to squeeze in interview prep. Also can't decide whether to apply for competitive leadership course thing which has a deadline of monday or put all my eggs in the interview basket. Maybe doing another application would double as interview prep? Also want to get sone swimming under my belt.

NC4Now · 26/09/2019 22:46

Another on the AF roll call! Aren’t we a saintly bunch.
I’m glad I went to the gym. I had a great session with my PT, pushed hard with the weights then finished with some boxing.
I’m weights tired now which is lush. In fact, thinking about it, it’s a bit like two glasses of wine tired 🤔

Frouby · 27/09/2019 08:04

Morning all

Disaster here this morning. Dh set off to work at 4.45am which is bad enough. But then broke down about 20 miles from where he needed to be and has been rescued and towed home by the AA. Fml. It's alternator that has gone which isn't the end of the world but still a pain in the arse.

So that's a good start to the weekend.

Anyhow, didn't have the best nights sleep despite not drinking. Up and down for a pee, then dhs alarm went off at 4.10am, then he woke me up at 6am ringing me to tell me he had broken down.

Won't be dry tonight, think am going to pop a bottle of wine in the fridge.

Dionysa · 27/09/2019 09:30

Frouby, aren't you tempted to open it now? Grin

I hope your day gets better.

I'm already tossing up AF/not AF tonight.

Good luck with the decision, Longest.

Liking the sounds of weights tired, NC4.

Frouby · 27/09/2019 12:03

I was 10 minutes ago Dion. Am sat working, doing matched betting, which as you know is complicated and easy to make a mistake and mistakes cost money.

Dh sat in living room

'Ok google'
'Google, find board lifters'
Muttering.

'Ok google'
'Google, find board lifters screwfix'
More muttering and some swears

'Ok google'
'Google-FIND BOARD LIFTERS FOR SALE TOOLSTATION BUT CHEAP ONES'

'Fuck sake, google is shit, it can't find board lifters'.

Fml. Have sent him to screwfix to look in a catalogue.

🤣🤣🤣🛠 Frouby

Waterandlemonjuice · 27/09/2019 18:32

Leaving, hedge your bets, do both, thats what I’d do anyway. Good luck.

Frouby, ffs at alternator, that’s annoying

Well done everyone, we are saintly!

Period started today, phew, still not menopausal although that explains weepiness yesterday and wanting to kill someone today

we are about to have Chinese, I have a glass of wine, feel happy!

Dionysa · 27/09/2019 20:40

Not dry. Sigh.

NC4Now · 28/09/2019 12:34

Decidedly soggy last night. Frouby what a nightmare Friday you had!
I’ve had a fry up then sweated about 500ml of wine out in spin class. I feel half dead but better than I did two hours ago.
I’m enjoying exercise at the moment. Just need to sort my diet out now and keep up the momentum.

longestlurkerever · 28/09/2019 15:37

We are in Sussex. Could potentially be nice except the girls didn't sleep well and have been tired and shrieky. They have now crashed out in the car so enjoying a few minutes' peace in the car park having sent dh to find coffee! Might drag them all to a ceilidh this evening, which would mean a moderate evening as would have to drive, but only if they tone down the ratbagness.

Frouby alarm for 4:15? Ugh! Sorry about the car too.
