Well that was hardly worth watching. What a load of vacuous drivel. Like she doesn't give a monkeys!

OP posts:
roarfeckingroarr · 05/06/2023 12:36

I just don't understand why anyone cares about any of this

SlipSlidinAway · 05/06/2023 12:37

But what did you actually want her to say?

Sorry , hit post too soon.

I'd like her to have said something along the lines of .... Hi everyone, it's lovely to be back. I'm sorry to see there's still so much speculation and gossip about PS. It's getting out of hand now and no matter what your own personal views, this is turning into a witch-hunt that needs to stop. He hasn't - as far as I'm aware - broken any laws so there's no need to turn him into a hate figure. Let's try to be kinder and let the man have some privacy to deal with what has happened.

Softoprider · 05/06/2023 12:38

But what did you actually want her to say?

Nothing. She just shouldn't have been there at all. Nothing she could say would have made her non actions as an apparent 'best friend' could or can make this right now.

hotsummerlovin · 05/06/2023 10:30

I had to rewind it. I was wondering why she was asking if I was ok? 😂

😂😂😂😂😂😂

excelledyourself · 05/06/2023 12:41

It was nauseating. And the attempt to make out like everyone was in it together, and that we had all been betrayed by big, bad Phil was woeful.

He betrayed his wife and family, yes, and that's bad. Do I feel for them, yes. Am I troubled and shaken? I most certainly am not, because it's not about any of us 🙄

Paul2023 · 05/06/2023 12:42

Holly didn’t write that speech I guarantee.

I think that Hollys speech was written by ITV, to leave Schofield isolated and leave all the blame with him. So ITV can shun any responsibility.
And so the show can move on and leave PS to face the music on his own. ITV have literally got their barge pole out.

excelledyourself · 05/06/2023 12:43

And if she really gave a shit about his mental health, she wouldn't have said any of what she did.

Ulookgood · 05/06/2023 12:44

SeemsPointless · 05/06/2023 12:21

I don't really understand this line of thinking.

Did Trump and Boris get off too lightly? Should their corruption and disgusting personal behaviour been hauled into the daylight, and proper investigations done with tough punishments handed out?

Well, yes. I don't think anyone disagrees there.

But to say "ah well, we didn't bother to punish Trump or Boris so let's not worry about a groomer and his enabler then either...."

You can think Boris should have had the book thrown at him and also think that both Phil and Holly deserve to go. And you can also think that Schofield probably deserves to be criminally investigated for potential underage grooming.

They got off too lightly despite committing much mores crimes openly in public. I dont understand the double standards posters like you have and then selectively you would choose who you would chase to get punished even when their 'crimes' are smaller and not frequent. First take Bojo to the court who is again back in the news for his frauds and who we are paying forever a handsome salary because he was the PM of country once, then tell us about PS.

Stalkedbyzombies · 05/06/2023 12:44

I wonder if Tom Bradby was involved in writing the speech? 😄

OrbandSpectacle · 05/06/2023 12:44

Let's try to be kinder and let the man have some privacy to deal with what has happened.

Maybe it would help if the man stopped with the appallingly self serving interviews.

Kittykatmeowzers · 05/06/2023 12:47

i don’t understand what the big deal
is…he wasn’t honest about a fling with a colleague, just like thousands before him.

BeverForget · 05/06/2023 10:55

Bring back Nick and Anne! (showing my age there...)

Wasn't that a different programme all together? TV-AM or something of that nature? It was Richard and Judy presenting TM originally.

Biffatcrafts · 05/06/2023 12:48

Her statement just did not feel, or sound, sincere. She just wants to protect her own brand and paycheck.

NoTouch · 05/06/2023 12:48

Firstly, are you OK? It feels very strange indeed sitting here without Phil.
And I imagine that you might have been feeling a lot like I have - shaken, troubled, let down, worried for the wellbeing of people on all sides of what's been going on, and full of questions.
You, me and all of us at This Morning gave our love and support to someone who was not telling the truth, who acted in a way that they themselves felt that they had to resign from ITV, and step down from a career that they loved. That is a lot to process.
And it's equally hard to see the toll that it's taken on their own mental health. I think what unites us all now is a desire to heal for the health and wellbeing of everyone.
I hope that, as we start this new chapter and get back to a place of warmth and magic that this show holds for all of us, we can find strength in each other.
And, from my heart, can I just say thank you for all of your kind messages. And thank you for being here this morning.
Myself, Josie (Gibson), Dermot (O'Leary), Alison (Hammond), Craig (Doyle), and every single person that works on this show will continue to work hard every single day to bring you this show that we love.

A patronising load of twaddle. Are you ok? 😂Lets just shut it down with a PR statement, brush this all under the carpet and move on.

How anyone can listen to her poke around into little peoples lives again, when she cannot be open and honest herself is beyond me.

Hellenabe · 05/06/2023 12:49

I find all this bizarre. No one i know likes her as a presenter on anything. She epitomises what you'd expect a mean girl to be, plus all the rumours say she is exactly that. She must know some heavy hitters at ITV or perhaps they feel it's better PR to have her there rather than both going.

With PS, he took out an actual super injunction. You wouldnt do such a thing unless you knew what you were doing is wrong. Even if the boy was of consent, you dont just start dating like this, there must have been grooming going on. The weirdness of Simon Schofield (his friend) and apparently the facilitator. The strange pictures of his mum elderly being paraded out. Where are his actual friends? The brother being jailed for being a paedophile. You dont get 12 years for nothing. And the vagueness of the reporting there tells me it's someone who is closer to home than a random. This family is awful.

I just find it strange how some people are playing all this down. Join the dots here....

So he shouldn't have any right of reply to people who say he met the other man when he was a young child and groomed him? He shouldn't say he met him at 15 and nothing sexual happened until he was an adult? I wonder if you just might want to defend yourself from those sort of accusations if it happened to you or if you'd just be happy to let it go? If lots of the stuff that has been said about him are untrue why shouldn't he say that? If I was him I'd be consulting lawyers and some of my targets would be on here.

Blossomtoes · 05/06/2023 12:50

BordoisAgain · 05/06/2023 12:30

He quit his job, he deserves to be left alone.

Well hopefully he won't be doing any more angst-ridden interviews and setting up photo ops with his mum.

Maybe he could step out of the public eye and spend some time at one of his large houses with his family and friends.

I imagine there’s nothing he wants more.

Talking down to us like children 🤦‍♀️

Haven't seen today's. I did see a clip of her simpering apology for queue gate.

The thing is they are all keenly aware that their audience is C2DEs. The working classes, pensioners and unemployed. And they think that makes their audience thick as mince. That's why they talk down to them. I don't know why everyone doesn't just vote with their remote and switch off. It's drivel anyway and we have streaming now.

So you can judge him guilty because you believe he had the cheek to want to stop people saying things about him that he says are untrue? You've decided that makes him guilty?

Have you ever stood up for yourself in real life or do you just let people say what they like about you?

StemStem · 05/06/2023 12:57

She has no remorse. She failed to take any responsibility. She is ruthless and will play the idiot for as long as she can because her ego is bigger than his.

Remmy123 · 05/06/2023 12:57

The words used 'are you ok' 'shaken' etc

we are not in a middle of a war!!! It's ridiculous

OrbandSpectacle · 05/06/2023 12:58

Oh FFS 🙄

Hellenabe · 05/06/2023 12:58

@Iwasafool what makes him guilty is the secrecy, the fact that everyone knew about him and this boy and said nothing. The photos of them both together. Would you be ok if it were your son suddenly dating when he came of age (if that's what actually happened) Him getting him the job on TM. Him telling his brother not to do it again rather than report him. So many poor decisions.

I would always stand up for myself but openly, not just shutting down the news completely. He should have made a statement at the time, not taken out the injunction.

Just watched a clip online. So she did ask if we are alright?! 😂😂
