Well that was hardly worth watching. What a load of vacuous drivel. Like she doesn't give a monkeys!

So what? What the hell has it got to do with you?
Consenting adult males can do whatever the fuck they like. You might be clutching your pearls but for most sane people this is just blatant homophobia.

In most work places it would absolutely be a sackable offence for a very powerful, senior member of staff to get into a relationship with a very young, junior staff member. There’s a huge power imbalance and the fact that this young man was SACKED from the job he wanted to keep because Phil dumped him highlights the power imbalance.

willlow23 · 06/06/2023 00:24

It's all become quite the witch hunt and a huge pile on to PS - after what happened with Caroline Flack it's easy to imagine all this driving him to the same - from what I've read about him he's done some shady stuff and possibly not terribly nice human but all this press seems excessive and driven to completely destroy the man.
I can't imagine for one second that holly knew absolutely nothing about any of this having been best friends as well as colleagues for years - she seems to be scrambling to save herself here when she was likely absolutely complicit herself.
PS definitely did wrong here but all the many articles are starting to make me feel really bad for him

“Are you ok?” Who does she think she is? 😅 She thinks she’s the nations Mum and not some irritating airhead.

Reality is that she most likely didn't even write it. It will be a carefully written statement put together by ITV's PR (and legal) team for her to read to ensure everything they feel needs to be said whilst ensuring nothing which could lead them into further trouble was mentioned.

So if it said 'are you okay' then of course she isn't really meaning it to individual people on here. She's simply doing her job - reading what is in front of her whilst presenting.

She is presenting to the audience who watch it daily, not the baying public who tuned in just for the spectacle on the day!

Willitheanicesunset · 06/06/2023 08:43

Yes, but she carefully wrote it all
herself and has been planning it all
week…she obviously hasn’t, but wouldn’t she have any say/opinion on it? I’d say I don’t want to read it/can we change it

😀Oh really. How naive that sounds. Of course she is, they're well aware of the interest this has generated! Have you seen the news?

Stalkedbyzombies · 06/06/2023 09:51

Eammon is not conducting a witch hunt. He knows that PS is lying and wants the people affected to expose the lie. He has tried to himself but he is not one of the young gay men who were groomed. Unfortunately, PS has probably paid them to shut up which also ties in with the fact that he was paid an obscenely high salary for too long which enabled him to create this situation and keep it well contained.

Eammon’s only intention here is to further his failing career.

He had ample opportunity to speak out, not just to ITV but to the media. We know now that there never was a super injunction so people need to ask wider questions as to why the media never picked this up, why Eammon never opened his mouth until now. I think we know exactly why, because he was biding his time until it would benefit him the most.

There is not a single genuine person involved in this, with perhaps the exception of Ruth who until now has kept quiet and not engaged in all this hysterical need to see who can screech the loudest.

"We know now that there never was a super injunction" - where has this been confirmed?

Also, E&R apparently DID complain and raise concerns, hence why they were elbowed out - their voices were too loud. E said when he moved that it was all toxic etc

MeinKraft · 06/06/2023 11:41

Eamonn probably didn't speak out until now because the media weren't picking up the story for whatever reason.

JoanThursday1972 · 06/06/2023 12:14

There's a lot mixed into this whole story:

Schofield and his lies and gaslighting the public and his family. Fair enough, he's bisexual or gay, whatever, no issue and he's not the first to have an affair but he's been hypocritical and gaslighting about it.

Willoughby - seems to think she is the queen, Kate Middleton and Margaret Thatcher all rolled into one giving statements that mean less and have less substance than a quarter of a marshmallow.

The This Morning show itself - needs a complete revamp and to gain credibility. I don't even watch it and have only ever caught it occasionally in other people's houses over the years but today presenting with Josie Gibson will show up Holly's lack of proper skills. It is fluffy nonsense and that should stop

Eamonn and Ruth - they were also told to shut up when they raised all sorts of concerns now the knives are out for him as they say he is taking advantage and gleeful at someone else's downfall. Maybe he is, but is it fair to have a go at him too?

It is all one unholy mess. Good luck sorting it all out.

Iwasafool · 06/06/2023 13:00

Twonewcats · 05/06/2023 20:52

This is the thing that some people seem to keep ignoring - that they didn't meet when he was 18 and have an affair, it's what happened during the years before that people are questioning.

The man who was the boy hasn't made any criminal complaints as far as I know so why are people imagining things and making things up. As far as we know nothing happened so nothing to see. If the other man isn't making a complaint it isn't anyone else's business. Imagine how he must feel if all this was innocent and people are making things up, imagine how he must feel if something happened and he is choosing not to go public with it but people won't leave him alone?

Shame he hasn't got access to social media, maybe he needs to get online instead of worrying about advertising gadgets for his poorly legs.

This👆

After the whole Savile cover up*, ITV really need to conduct a thorough and open investigation into all the allegations and perceived toxic culture at all levels.

  • Not comparing PS to JS, just the cover ups and blind eyes that allows wrongdoing to continue

  1. many people say he hasn't spoken because there's an injunction. In any case, if it were all innocent, then surely MM would hate to see the crap P is getting and would presumably speak up to say "Hang on, guys, this is ridiculous, it was all consensual". If there was nothing grim about it, what has he got to hide? His name and photos have been around for YEARS, so he's not anonymous as it is.
  2. You obviously don't know how grooming works if you believe that someone would know for certain they weren't groomed, and simply make a criminal complaint. Not as straightforward as that.

I don’t believe Eamonn is trying to further his career at all, how does this? He’s getting the message out that has needed to come out for a long time, good for him! Someone needs to

Well he’s trying to increase GB news viewing figures then.

This is the same eammon homes who asked a rape victim whether she had learned her lesson about walking home after she was raped.

Let’s not pretend he’s a paragon of integrity. He’s not.

But it’s easy to big him up because he’s talking about something people agree with, never mind his misogynist attitude the way he talked down to Ruth on TM, the way he bullied Anthia Turner off of this morning, the way he as already stated above, victim blamed a rape victim… Shall we go on

Then you have the likes of the odious, bitter Eamonn Holmes revelling in Phil’s down.

Mirabai · 06/06/2023 15:07

I think Eamon just wants revenge. He was sacked and ITV made it look as if he walked, thus has a personal beef with ITV, and he has a personal dislike of PS.

He’s just putting the boot in where he can.

He’s just doing it to further Eamonn Holmes. He’s retirement age anyway.

Softoprider · 06/06/2023 15:19

This is all conjecture now............ and you are boring

Paul2023 · 07/06/2023 22:50

Martin Frizzel who’s the editor of This Morning, seems horrible.

Did you see his aubergine comment? How arrogant. He’s married to Fiona Phillips.

LunaNorth · 08/06/2023 04:24

I seem to remember Eamon Holmes slagging off Anthea Turner after sharing the sofa with her for years on morning telly.

He called her ‘Princess Tippy Toes’ iirc.

He’s a nasty man.

I'm not a fan of Eamon Holmes but in fairness, Anthea Turner is a giant arsehole. This was one of the tweets that in particular showed her nasty side - she followed it up with another tweet basically saying if you're overweight and disabled, then you're making lazy lifestyle choices.

She did apologise later for being "clumsy" but said she stood by her views. She can get fucked.
