Well that was hardly worth watching. What a load of vacuous drivel. Like she doesn't give a monkeys!

Yes, “ Phil’s very strange”
The huffy breaths seem a bit strange-
“ Find strength in each other??“

It’s just a TV show with yet another male who took advantage allegedly against a young person.

Yes, the whole speech was very odd.

And the constant attempts by Holly to align herself with the audience, as if we're all completely innocent bystanders together was a very transparent attempt to get people on side and put distance between herself and Schofield. "None of us knew, did we? That bad man deceived ALL of us, we're not to blame...."

Sorry love, WE didn't go on holiday with him. Or buy a villa next door. Or have him as our confidante.

I'm not impressed with the attempt to position herself as a victim. None of us know exactly how much she knew but given the very public rumours about Schofield's behaviour and her close friendship with him, there's absolutely no way she knew nothing. Choosing to turn a blind eye isn't OK and a breathy little speech doesn't get her off the hook.

Anyone would think someone had died.

A little bit of belief died when I heard that statement blossom.

Aside from the fact that this story has been spoken about on various platforms for a few years now, I find it hard to believe that HW or anyone else involved knew nothing.

If someone I worked with dragged me into their cyclone of shite and I’d been totally blindsided, I’d be furious and would say so.

The two week holiday I get. The prepared, dead eyed statement I don’t.

AH’s statement about being conflicted and hurt made some sort of sense.

HW’s didn’t. It didn’t feel sincere. It didn’t feel honest.

It felt like brand preservation.

MN statement:

We don’t like pretty thin women who make lots of money. Actress, presenter whatever - we label them “fake”. We want her sacked and replaced with someone fatter.

I disagree that it's jealousy of her appearance. She's not 'thin' and while pleasant looking, as most of the presenters will be on these programmes I'm sure, she's nothing out of the ordinary.

Sallyh87 · 05/06/2023 12:19

I’m confused as to why everyone is being so hard on her. I wouldn’t say I’m exactly a fan of Holly, a bit sickly sweet for my taste but I don’t understand why she should be held to account for this.

Her creepy colleague had a relationship with a much younger man. As far as we know nothing illegal took place. Her employers were by all accounts fully aware of this and it was consensual. What could she really have done to prevent it? Who could she report it to?

SeemsPointless · 05/06/2023 12:21

Ulookgood · 05/06/2023 12:11

Agreed.

Bojo got less flack when he was in mu h more serious position as a PM, whose policies had a direct impact on people and state of the country. From serial affairs to domestic violence to using taxpayers money on women like Jennifer Arcuri to lying about corona virus seriousness and giving contracts to his mates but some how the worst people in the UK deserving to lose their jobs are presenters of a TV show. No wonder the state of the country.

I don't really understand this line of thinking.

Did Trump and Boris get off too lightly? Should their corruption and disgusting personal behaviour been hauled into the daylight, and proper investigations done with tough punishments handed out?

Well, yes. I don't think anyone disagrees there.

But to say "ah well, we didn't bother to punish Trump or Boris so let's not worry about a groomer and his enabler then either...."

You can think Boris should have had the book thrown at him and also think that both Phil and Holly deserve to go. And you can also think that Schofield probably deserves to be criminally investigated for potential underage grooming.

Stalkedbyzombies · 05/06/2023 12:21

PS laid out his position in relation to HW. It was sympathetic.
She has laid out her position in relation to PS. It was harsh.
PS has the next move on the chessboard. 🤔

I bloody love Rudy, I've followed him on twitter for a while. 🤣

Ulookgood · 05/06/2023 12:23

Wellthatwasodd · 05/06/2023 12:00

Absolutely. She didn’t let him off the hook at all. Lots of celebs are saying ‘be kind‘ and saying to leave him alone. She said he lied.

Yes, she supported him lying to his wife of 25 years when we came out but only recently when she found out she had been lied to, lying became the biggest offence a person can cause.

I feel this trial of Phil by public has gone a bit extreme. He does not have any victim come out and spoken against him. He accepted what he did was wrong and inappropriate unlike likes of Bojo and Trump who have actually committed criminal offence while being in the highest offices.

He quit his job, he deserves to be left alone. It is so unfair to call him paedophile, compare him to J Saville and call him a groomer. It is wrong to have an affair, it is wrong to have that kind of relationship with a person so much younger, he has paid price for it by losing what he loved the most, he has not done anything illegal, leave him alone now.

SquaresandStarlings · 05/06/2023 12:24

"And I imagine that you might have been feeling a lot like I have - shaken, troubled, let down, worried for the wellbeing of people on all sides of what's been going on, and full of questions"

This - OMG!! Does she/ITV really think the general public care this much about the show. They're completely deluded. I don't think I've ever met anyone who watches it.

ArcaneWireless · 05/06/2023 12:26

MN statement:

Hardly…

Willmafrockfit · 05/06/2023 12:26

so how did the runner get the job even if wasnt via PS

Dandruffpandruff · 05/06/2023 12:26

@SquaresandStarlings you've just made me realise that I don't know anyone who actually watches it either!

Willmafrockfit · 05/06/2023 12:27

only time i watched was when someone put a facebook montage of the two of them giggling,
i tried to smile, really i did, but it was just meh

Ulookgood · 05/06/2023 12:27

@SeemsPointless when PS get investigated and his victim come out and say he was victimimized, we will call him a groomer.

And I do not understand your argument. You agree but you haven't caused such uproar to demand any action over Boris Johnson using his power to do crimical acts in the country impacting a lot more people, when there are clear evidences against him.

Loopylalalou · 05/06/2023 12:27

AngelinaFibres · 05/06/2023 10:31

Because.....she truly .....truly ....cares .
About her career and advertising endorsements

This is it in a nutshell.

Busbygirl · 05/06/2023 12:28

Why yet another speech about PS and how everyone is feeling? Self indulgent nonsense.
Far better to have just said nothing this morning. It’s doing no one any good going on about it all the time and it’s boring.

Tileda · 05/06/2023 12:29

It's giving mass hysteria

BordoisAgain · 05/06/2023 12:30

He quit his job, he deserves to be left alone.

Well hopefully he won't be doing any more angst-ridden interviews and setting up photo ops with his mum.

Maybe he could step out of the public eye and spend some time at one of his large houses with his family and friends.

RenoDakota · 05/06/2023 12:31

Assume she was talking about and to the muppets that usually watch it, not the voyeurs who only tuned in today to see what she would say.

Willmafrockfit · 05/06/2023 12:31

the pair of them have been trending on this site since September!
considering nobody watches!
well at least 3 of us

ArcaneWireless · 05/06/2023 12:31

SeemsPointless · 05/06/2023 11:52

Aye. This was more like it!

i agree

SlipSlidinAway · 05/06/2023 12:31

But what did you actually want her to say?

Foxgate · 05/06/2023 12:34

It was actually breaking news on the bbc app. Most people couldn’t give a flying whatsit.

Iwasafool · 05/06/2023 12:35

Starlightstarbright1 · 05/06/2023 10:35

I didn't watch it but please lets not start on Holly whatever she did or didn't know she isn't guilty of just having knowledge which is or isn't a crime at the moment.

I don't care what she knew or didn't know. I don't see why he needed to tell her anything about his sex life and no idea why anyone would expect him to, I've never discussed mine with a colleague and no one has ever felt the need to tell me anything that personal. Don't know why she feels she has a right to know, don't know why she wants to get involved. Her and Eamonn Holmes would look so much better if they just shut up and get on with their jobs.

If something was going on that needed to be outed then they should have done that, bit too late to the party to start now. If something inappropriate was going on then the police need to deal with that, none of us know what did or didn't happen or when.

If it was all abut PS having sex with another adult it is beyond me what people are so upset about. There seems to be a new puritanism going on, as long as the other man was a man and whatever happened was consensual there really isn't anything to talk about. Bearing that in mind I'm off for lunch and it will be more than a little biscuit.
