Well that was hardly worth watching. What a load of vacuous drivel. Like she doesn't give a monkeys!

They’re all delusional if they think they can ride this all out.

It will never be what it was

ArcaneWireless · 05/06/2023 10:40

Me too @OutwiththeOutCrowd

I’n not fond of AH at all but at least her response seemed honest.

The white dress too, picture of innocence

Ugh yes. Wide-eyed, and fake watery wobbles, every box ticked.

Twonewcats · 05/06/2023 10:42

"We all gave our love and support to someone who wasn't telling the truth. "

Well quite. But when he came out, the fact is that he was lying until then. So.......I personally think her words are loaded with implications.

They were great friends for a long long time, and her words didn't say anything about how she loved him etc - it was more throwing him under the bus and making sure he's FULLY being blamed. Interesting

hotsummerlovin · 05/06/2023 10:42

40 mins in now and she's warmed up! It's like, Phil? Who? 😂

Ugh yes. Wide-eyed, and fake watery wobbles, every box ticked.

To be fair, her hands were visibly shaking.

Meeting · 05/06/2023 10:43

Just went to find a clip of this and I have to say I find it quite offensive that she puts herself on the same category as the viewers.

Willitheanicesunset · 05/06/2023 10:44

It was awful..and just weird.

She doesn’t seem happy to be there at all, it’s deathly dull now, it’s just gone, it’s dead now.

I was watching some of Eamonn, Ruth, Rylan ones back in the day, so much fun and entertaining

Its had its day now

Bluebells1970 · 05/06/2023 10:44

Her ego is just as big as Schofield's, and she's smugly sat there thinking she's now the solo star with everyone else as her support act.

They had bought holiday homes NEXT to each other. Spent entire summers socialising with their families as well as working together. She knew exactly what was going on, but like the show execs, she's happy to throw him under the bus to save her own skin.

There was not one ounce of sincerity in that statement.

PrincessMyshkin · 05/06/2023 10:44

I've kept an eye on these events but not gone into deep detail so forgive me if I've missed something but I keep seeing 'HW knew' but she knew what exactly? That PS was shagging/ carrying on with a younger colleague (over 18) and had got him a job? Not debating the rights and wrongs of PS's actions but it cannot have been that unusual in television and I'm not sure how it makes her such a baddun (in some opinions). She wouldn't have had any part in their meetings when the younger man was a child/ teenager so what was she supposed to do and on what grounds?

Of course she is acting and has always acted in her own best interests. Don't we all do that at work? I'm just not getting what she is supposed to have done that is sinister.

Well that's a another hard lesson for PS. They were " best friends " yet she gladly pushed him under the bus when it came down to it.

BriarHare · 05/06/2023 10:46

I groaned when I saw she was in angelic white. It’s all ludicrous and would’ve been better had she just said nothing.

Phil’s relationship with the runner was discussed all over SM for years. It’s just insulting we’re expected to believe that she, a very close friend who holidayed with him, managed to remain oblivious.

Softoprider · 05/06/2023 10:46

I think what has happened is awful, I think the media has had its frenzy - probably still having it, but hey why does she get a get out of jail free card? Why does he get the sack and lose everything while she gets off scot free?

I think it's time he was left alone now, but she should not be here on our screens this morning as if nothing has ever happened.
TV is awful you are either the dogs bollocks or you die as we have witnessed.

JudgeJ · 05/06/2023 10:46

Vacuous drivel from her? Surely not! You could hardly have been expecting Shakesperian prose surely, yet another one using this situation for their own advancement.

TheRealHousewife · 05/06/2023 10:47

Goodness. How harsh you all are. Reading this thread I gather there wasn’t anything HW could have said (in whatever way) that would be acceptable or believed.

I don’t normally watch TM but I did today to see how the show opened. I thought HW was sincere and apologetic in her manner and it was evidently tough for her to keep her composure. Then again even at 60 I tend to see the best in people. It makes for a happier world.

Qilin · 05/06/2023 10:49

But what did you actually want her to say?

Did people tune in expecting her to be a sobbing mess, with the whole show dedicated to talking about it?

Short message (as couldn't ignore it) and then move on - surely that's all that was needed anyway. Which seems to be what has happened.

She couldn't have won here. Some people won't be happy because she's not been fired or hasn't resigned as they claim to know more about the events than what's been published.

There is no actual evidence that she knew everything and wasn't lied to like everyone else. Many people can have close relationships with others and not know what's going on fully, and believe what the person they trust say over rumours and gossip. Read a handful of MN threads from cheated spouses and betrayed friends and you'll see that's the case.

I think it's important to remember that she isn't the one who has lied and had an inappropriate relationship with a young employee in the show.

It's been mentioned.
The show moves in.
Nothing more necessary from any presenter.

I think that's what's getting up people's noses to be fair. It's the pretending.

Just like they both pretended to be filming when the queen was in state and they clearly jumped the queue. No one was allowed to film or report from in there. They were filming outside.

Therefore they jumped the queue and pushed in with their media passes, in front of thousands of people.

LunaNorth · 05/06/2023 10:51

This is one of these things we’ll look back on with a mass collective cringe.

It’s a filler TV programme, fgs. She’s acting like a bloody war leader crossed with a primary school headmistress.

It’s a bit of telly, Holly.

Robinni · 05/06/2023 10:52

I almost started a thread saying am I unreasonable to think the matter was handled too swiftly.

I thought it was very weird. She was noticeably emotional, but rather than express this and be human, she read off the autocue like a robot.

Then on to avoiding the pollen bomb!!

I felt they should have had a more relaxed statement from her and then a section in the show to talk about coming to terms with trauma/deceit, workplace liaisons or something remotely relevant… doctors/therapists there… to properly address what’s been going on and begin to heal from it if they want the publics support for the programme.

It was difficult to watch somebody obviously so distressed by the whole thing have to puppet out whatever the studio wanted to sweep it under the rug. Inauthentic.

Nobody gives a toot about the pollen count, prawns or Adam Lamber. Could not care less. But I care about how a major broadcaster addresses abuse of power within the workplace and supports its staff. What was broadcast looked extremely fake and unhealthy.

Qilin · 05/06/2023 10:53

I dint even watch the programme, or seen today's 'speech' on TV.
But the frothing from some posters across Mn re HW is ridiculous.

Please remember that she wasn't the one sleeping with a young employee whilst lying to their wife about it.

Bucketheadbucketbum · 05/06/2023 10:54

She needs to go it's galling watching her. The sheen has gone and she should read the room

BeverForget · 05/06/2023 10:55

Bring back Nick and Anne! (showing my age there...)

Qilin · 05/06/2023 10:55

It’s just insulting we’re expected to believe that she, a very close friend who holidayed with him, managed to remain oblivious

She didn't say she was oblivious, based in the numerous threads on here.
She says she heard and questioned him about it. He apparently lied to her, as he did to his wife and many others.
Most people do, unfortunately, chose to believe what they are told by their (supposedly trusted) friend or partner. Again, read any number of MN threads and you'll see most people do,trust family and friends over rumour and gossip.

MayThe4th · 05/06/2023 10:55

What exactly do people want here? If she’d said nothing people would criticise that. Say anything and she’s a fake. If she’d quit people would be saying that it was an admission of guilt. She can’t win.

And the truth is that no-one knows whether she knew or not. no-one but it suits the narative to think that she was complicit because then it gives people a reason to rip her apart as well.

If you don’t like Holly on this morning then don’t watch it. It ain’t that hard.

But people here aren’t going to be happy until someone does something irreversible. I’ve already seen posts from people saying they don’t really care if PS kills himself, do people feel the same about HW? Is that the end goal for some here?

CallieQ · 05/06/2023 10:56

She is awful, her statement was soo false. She should go
