Baby number 4 for her and Jamie

I know a family of 6 girls (and the eldest is 10 ) - their father has decided that he has his 6-a-side soccer team and that they are now officially done. They have nice sensible names, though.

My DS loves them all, although he does find them slightly overwhelming - DD just fits right in and relishes being part of such a strong majority.

expatinscotland · 04/03/2010 21:38

Then why go on about wanting a boy at all then, lockets?

I'm warming to the name Fifi Foofoo.

I think the majority of parents have a 4 child for the sake of having another child, but there's nothing wrong in hoping the 4th child will be of a different sex from the other 3, no?

Francagoestohollywood · 04/03/2010 21:44

Exactly Lockets.

NorbertDentressangle · 04/03/2010 21:45

I reckon that if its a boy they'll go down the herbs and spices route for names:

eg: Oregano
Bay
Cumin
Corriander

expatinscotland · 04/03/2010 21:46

A healthy child is all that concerns us.

What a ridiculous question!

Tons of other ways you can respond.

And he's repeated it in the press more than once.

EightiesChick · 04/03/2010 21:49

It went further than them being asked what they would like. There was a whole interview - rehashed extensively in this story - where Jools says while pregnant with Petal that Jamie is 'desperate' for a boy and she will do anything to give him the son she wants.

DrNortherner · 04/03/2010 21:49

Expat how many kids do you have? I am thinking 3 girls?

expatinscotland · 04/03/2010 21:50

What does that matter, DrNorthern?

But since you asked, two girls. Then a boy.

And there was lockets, saying, 'It's another girl.'

Yes, I can probably dig it up, too, if I could be arsed.

expatinscotland · 04/03/2010 21:52

Oh, I conceived him after a missed miscarriage.

We were just so pleased it was alive.

DH would go off on people who pulled the 'going for the boy?' routine, no journalists, of course.

'A healthy child' 'All children are a blessing', etc.

All very suitable answers.

Exactly, Eighties!

But there's ol' expat, mother of two girls and then a boy and one dead, being nasty again.

ClaireDeLoon · 04/03/2010 21:53

Am lolling at whoisasking suggesting 'little drizzle'

Congrats to them

expatinscotland · 04/03/2010 21:54

'What are you talking about expat- dig up what? why on earth do you need to dig anything up?'

Oh, I don't know, lockets, that I find it really hypocritical of you to have digs on me on this thread about my comments considering how you've responded in the past is all, that basically that's a bit pot calling kettle black and stuff.

Doesn't matter one bit expat, I used to post lots, don't anymore really and just remember I used to see you aroudn thye boards. Was being friendly, not asking in relation to this actual thread IYKWIM.

Francagoestohollywood · 04/03/2010 21:56

Yes, I agree Expat, but still I can't find nothing wrong in people saying "I'd like a girl/boy this time" or "I'd like another girl/boy"... it's just another way to chat about the pregnancy, the anxieties, the curiosity and all the emotions related to have another baby. I think.

JustAnotherManicMummy · 04/03/2010 21:56

I'll have a quid on them calling the baby Jamie. And if it's another girl it'll be Jaime.

They are the type

expatinscotland · 04/03/2010 21:56

Whatever.

DrN, he did more than that. Went beyond banter, as EightiesChick's link demos as well as others.

I don't think he did just express a simple preference though, he said that he was desperate for a boy and that he would adopt one if he didnt get one.
