Airbrushed within an inch of her life though (hence smooth, blemish-free skin presumably) and within considerably less than an inch of her nipples.

Yep, the covers are all about selling and for some reason big doesn't sell - according to those that make these decisions anyway. Black doesn't sell, old doesn't sell.

So you get the uniform white size 4 who's airbrushed to buggery if they're over 25.

Not allowed to show nipples on magazine covers so they have to be airbrushed out or covered in some way.

Seems they have done a mix of airbrushing and cleverly placed arty text.

I don't really get the point of it though. And I quite like Beth Ditto actually. But she has been airbrushed to within an inch of her life. Do people really think that someone that overweight looks like that in the buff??

I think Beth is a goddess - confident in her own skin, talented, individual and ground breaking. Personally I don't like the styling of the pic, I think the make up's vile but Beth is amazing. Did anyone see her host The Sunday Night Project a while back? I was a total fan after that, she was a nautral!
