How are you fat at a size 10, Benny? That sounds normal to me, not fat.

RiaParkinson · 18/02/2009 22:28

My BMI is 21 and i am a size 12

Tn0g · 18/02/2009 22:30

But her weight is actually working for her, setting her apart in an industry where image counts and she's challenging it, quite successfully too. Kerching.

< delayed wave to Benny >

southeastastra · 18/02/2009 22:31

i feel cynical that setting her apart will be her selling point though. this cover has already proved that.

does she have a new song out, what is it?

edam · 18/02/2009 22:34

'Not healthy' is just code for 'yuck, a fattie, how DARE they show themselves in public'.

Lots of celebrities and people who are considered beautiful aren't healthy. But people I've never seen a thread where people have been so insulting towards Hollywood actresses, even though many of them are underweight and on a starvation diet.

And there are plenty of other celebrities who probably don't live a healthy lifestyle. But I've not seen threads slagging off those who don't eat their five a day. The 'healthy' line is just an excuse for people who want to give their prejudices an airing without admitting that they are prejudiced.

BennyAndSwoon · 18/02/2009 22:35

Yeah - but Ria - you are MUCH taller than me (and you look good in a blue overall - I could never pull that off)

I am size 10 - and that is a bit baggy at the mo, apart from breasts

but I am short and I weigh 10.5 stone plus

in all the BMI stuff I im BIG

stray 'people' left in there when I re-wrote my post!

Tn0g · 18/02/2009 22:36

She's not going to be around long so she may as well have her 15 minutes and make a rake of dosh.

She's bound to have a song out, it would all tie up nicely, big airbrushed mag cover and song to push.

RiaParkinson · 18/02/2009 22:36

sod that Benny you look fab!

get a slendertone belt - thats my not so secret!

AitchTwoOh · 18/02/2009 22:37

agree edam.

btw, just to briefly return to the mm thing. it does say on snopes that she didn't wear a US size 16, but did wear a UK one, according to an auction of her clothes.

BennyAndSwoon · 18/02/2009 22:37

you know

Janos · 22/02/2009 23:35

While it's good to see an overweight/curvy woman presented as attarctive and desirable there's still the thought that she does look airbrushed.

Do ANY of these magazines how how women REALLY look, unairbrushed, with flaws and all?

It surely can't be that shocking to see a woman looking 'natural'? Otherwise the human race would just die out!

MrsDoylesBoyle · 22/02/2009 23:41

Riaparkinson-Does the slendertone actually work?
