A chat thread for those who don't like this Labour government. 💙

The problem with socialism is that you eventually run out of other people's money.

I’m in London.

It’s awful here.

Agree.

You've got tourism all year round and a huge population.

Omg the story keeps changing. My kids were better fibbers but at least stuck to the same fairytale.

Can anyone answer this?

Why did the villagers have to evacuate the following morning for a day ⁉️

More info, now from the PM.

“there is indeed a strong indication that Iran played a part”. He said it was a complex and serious police investigation “but we can now confirm our belief that Iran played a part”.

So Trump and Rubio were telling the truth? No idea why they've been bailed.

We’ve always had tourists and a huge population, but it’s never been as bad as now.

We’re drowning in rubbish.

I try to avoid going into London, but usually have to go in at least once a month. Lived there for years and years, well in an outer zone, but one that changed beyond recognition. I accept that places change over 30 years, but in the early times I used to see it go up and down, by the time I left it was probably going downhill for about six years.

Generally, I’m in the City when I go now, which I imagine is the most pleasant part. I do have to go into Westminster soon. Not sure what to expect.

Nuthatch26 · 30/09/2026 19:17

Burnham has now commented (finally) and said that its going to be a "tough winter". No shit Sherlock.

Has he deliberately ignored this and the Iran link until after his conference, or am I being cynical?

On another subject have people seen what is happening in France? High school kids rioting due to the dilapidated state of schools, lack of teachers, large classes etc. Let’s rejoin the EU - it’s nirvana!

At this point I'm assuming they were useful idiots recruited on line and didnt know that they were playing a part in something much wider.

No I’ve missed this. Although ik they’ve had panic buying of diesel.

It’s good in a way Brexit can be determined at the next GE. If it’s a no thanks then it can be said well there was another chance and that’s it.

Re tough winter coming up, AB’s a bit behind isn’t he.

Nuthatch26 · 30/09/2026 19:50

Let’s rejoin the EU - it’s nirvana!

Indeed.

Reading Burnham's words about the EU and his promises about electoral reform, I just kept thinking about the current state of Germany. No thanks.

The Times did a piece today suggesting that there was an Iran link, and that SM rumours about the perps being fuel thieves was not true.

Now Burnham has confirmed the Iran link.

It will be fine. We're been given breathing space with the VAT and Bus Fare cap. No need for anyone to complain until the next election!

Just generally going to shit really. Immigration and the resulting crime, poor economy, AfD on the rise with an eye on government.
Germany are not making being an EU member or coalition governments look attractive rn.

Oh, I see

Because of the France thing, I didn’t know if something in particular had happened. That definitely all sounds pretty shit.
