What has me baffled is that Trump is claiming that the arrests were a US operation with British help. Anyone have an explanation beyond he’s a pillock?

I read it was a member of the public who reported suspicious activity

Intelligence about the attack came from the Pentagon.

The men arrested may not have been from the boats though, they could have been born here.

Thank goodness for that person imagine if those bombs went off. I seen they have evacuated the houses surrounding the area those people must be so worried.

Ed Miliband made a seemingly random at the time quote/line a couple of days ago saying that any attacks by Iran on British soil would be taken very seriously, so maybe they’d had an idea that something was coming…

I hope not! I started this thread about a potential bomb threat linked to terrorism and my sympathy for the people who live and work in that area.

Iran threatened to attack Fairford back in July.

Maybe intelligence had informed Government of something potentially happening. Saying that if that was the case the intelligence couldn't have been that good if it was a member of the public who reported today's events.

I’m very surprised sky news put that photograph of the suspects being arrested in the news article.

I live in a nearby town, lots of us here were worried when our Government agreed to let the US fly their bombers from Fairford. We said the area would be a target. I know lots of people would disagree with me but its not our war, I wish the Government had told Trump to fuck off.
