Fairford latest: Counter terror police investigating if Iran is linked to RAF base bomb plot, Sky News understands | UK News | Sky News https://share.google/cU4wjxGZBYQtIb3sx

I couldn't find a thread on this breaking news. How awful for everyone involved.

I read this morning that a foreign actor was involved. I said last night they could be making a new James Bond film as one of my conspiracy theories.

I don’t think that means what you think it does. 😂

The more people talk about the gofundme the more people will know about it and fund it. It’s obviously working so far since it’s been set up and he’s made something, no idea how much.

Yet still you persist.

Well I haven’t linked his articles, mentioned it, or his name even. It is generally true though that those who do are adding to someone’s coffers. Thats the internet, the economy of attracting people.

So what does it mean? I know acting work is hard to come by but I don't think many of them moonlight as terrorists or even petrol thieves.

Hopefully the LiW thread will be as thoroughly policed for mentions of him.

I do hope people keep reading our thread.

Isn't it great that Burnham is changing this so more affluent parts of the country take their share?

It won't happen in any significant way. I'm glad that Burnham recognises that housing asylum seekers and refugees is a burden on the host community and he has said that wealthier communities need to also 'shoulder the burden'.

At least that's a recognition of reality unlike the sort of unthinking adherence to the 'refugees welcome' mantra displayed by some of the posts on here.

But it won't happen. It costs too much. So on we go, edging closer to civil unrest.

His articles?

Did he write them? It's a criminal case about a man who was formerly jailed for criminal activity.

Or perhaps you think that anything reported about him in the MSM should be suppressed. It's the only conclusion I can think of.

Keep linking if you like, talking about it generally. But usually someone is making money from increased awareness, eg a funding platform which you already cited.

I didn't say there was no evidence ...but specifically it is very unlikely that there is any evidence of terrorism or of them attempting to carry out an act of terrorism. If either were suspected, then at this point, the police have absolutely no need to release them on bail. They can legitimately detain them for up to 14 days.

The very fact that they were released on bail so soon really does indicate that they have no evidence to suggest any involvement in terrorism. Probably evidence exists of other lesser crimes...e.g theft. Although as yet, no charges of any kind.

It's not difficult to understand.

Edited

No it doesn’t (and you did refer in the post I’m replying to and the post before to ‘no evidence’). There clearly is some evidence, as they’ve been arrested on terrorism offences. If there was no evidence they would have been released on no further action. Police bail means the police are still investigating and gathering evidence in the hope of being able to charge. The risk of committing a further offence whilst on police bail must be low otherwise they wouldn’t have got it. But it’s not related to the evidence so far. As you’ve said, it’s not difficult to understand 🙄

Gtfto2024 · 29/09/2026 13:28

Nah, what I got from the mbhq link that sent me there was more than enough for my stomach thanks.

Fwiw, I completely understand from the short time I spent there why it was posted there.

Evan Davis BBC radio 4 PM : ' the police statement seems at variance with what President Trump said last night?'
Frank Gardner security correspondent : ' well yes..'

I don't know how either of them managed to hold it together. Very diplomatic. Trump is hallucinating.

Either Trump is hallucinating or he's spoken out about something he shouldn't have and the security services in the UK are trying to pretend it never happened because it's made them look foolish and inept.

I'll tell you what is foolish and inept though, letting these people out on bail. Irrespective of whether there is an immediately obvious terrorism aspect, it's far too soon to dismiss it as mere theft of fuel. They should have been kept in custody until a very, very thorough investigation has been done and that clearly has not happened.

Why assume I'm seething? I'm not by the way.

Thats a very odd, very emotive choice of word to give a stranger and possibly says more about your own mindset.

Strange.

No evidence of terrorism. That was my point. Not at the point of arrest, but at the point of bail being granted. If any evidence of terrorism was present, they would simply not be granted bail.

Suspected terrorists would not usually be considered a low risk of committing further offences whilst on bail. Who would even consider taking such a risk.

Is there a colon missing between "see" and "the" ?
That would make more sense.
