It shows what he’s wearing so may stop the tonnes of calls about hat, toys, and children wearing entirely different things.

Also unless there is a photo specifically from yesterday people will end up looking for a child wearing the outfit in the photo, rather than what he was wearing yesterday. People are very visual like that.

How absolutely nauseatingly terrifying.

My son is a runner, it’s quite possible to not be able to catch up with him once he’s off. The furthest he’s ever gotten is a shopping centre’s security office.

The family must be absolutely beside themselves. Just absolutely awful.

Why has the father posted on FB that the railway lines and water areas have been ruled out and that he has definitely gone further if this isn’t the case?

I can definitely imagine that this is what a parent is wanting to think, but sadly as we now live in such a public age, a statement like that on a public FB page is potentially going to make things harder in terms of people searching.

Can people just stop with the nasty comments. A 3 year old, vulnerable little child has gone missing. His family must be in bits and I'm willing to bet that none of them will feel as bad as the Grandfather who fell over and is very probably blaming himself.
Let's hope for some good news soon.

I just wrote what the police spokesman said which is now on the BBC news who are reporting live

There was a woman who went missing by a river, can’t remember her name, but there was a big speculation about it all. They checked entire river with highly specialised equipment, I think some organisation actually helped that had better equipment than the police, and couldn’t find her, she definitely wasn’t there etc…. But she was. I think it’s way too soon to rule that out. I think it would need to be checked a few times, possibly drained to be certain.

I looked on the map and there’s a lake right there, where he ran towards. It just seems inevitable doesn’t it.

I can only hope and pray that Noah is found safe soon <3 My son is a fraction younger than him and the whole story hits hard. Sweet little boy.

People who go missing near water are almost always found in the water. Not always straight away though.

I was taken when I was 3 out of mom and dad's front garden by two girls. I was returned later, but I do remember being with a man in a tree house and he had leopard print pants on n I'm only 50% sure I got shown his Willie. It was over 50 years ago. My dad found out who the man was and beat him up, my dad got jailed. This was early 70s. I even remember the police man asking me things and he had a bite of my ice cream 😂. Thankfully the rest of it I don't remember x

I sort of miss the days when I didn't know the nasty little thoughts of some people out there who somehow have just enough intelligence to set up an online account.

Twice I’ve found little toddlers walking by themselves and thankfully found the parents not far away who were absolutely panicked when they realised. It can happen to anyone. One little boy had managed to walk out his house, down a garden path and open a gate and was toddling down the road. A neighbour pointed me to his house and I managed to heard him in when his mum came running out and was so relived to see him.

I think the grandad falling is 100% plausible, especially given he was suddenly accelerating/possibly turning to chase the child, e.g.: head up, not looking at the ground.

The reason I say this is because my MIL was looking after my young DS in a playground and tripped over whilst chasing him, breaking her wrist. She was already retired but not at the age for "having a fall" by a long way, it's just that infants are very fast.

Hardly strange is it? The last thing they need is nosy ass incels flying drones around.

They have their own drones. They don't want private ones as operating those may interfere with the police drones. And as far as I'm aware they haven't banned private drones, just asked people not to use them.

I find it strange you did not read or listen to the reason why. They explained it clearly. It's because they have their own being used, and private ones can interfere.

I asked Mumsnet if this thread could be closed-they have asked for specific posts to be reported. Please do report any that you find disturbing.

I will say that I hope police kept an open mind about all possibilities and that "undergoing an autism assessment" didn't blind them to the fact that he could've been kidnapped or harmed after running off. I'm sure Sara Payne was playing in a field with siblings when she vanished but she wasn't lost in the field - someone had taken her.

I personally don't think the thread should be closed. There are far more decent people posting here than madheads, and why should the majority be punished for the actions of the few anyway?

I am hoping for the best in this sad case. May that be so.
