It could be considered a mistake to have taken him out and assuming that it was safe to do so.

That’s not a criticism. There are plenty of parents of severely autistic children who only ever take them out with two people present for instance because it’s just not possible to keep them under control single handedly.

But often they don’t realise that until something happens and the child bolts off too quickly etc such as happened in this case.

Unfortunately in this case it’s had more disasterous consequences, but I imagine that if the grandad had managed to catch him they would have re-thought the strategy in future.

And I think you're very very wrong on a lot of counts

It's on the BBC that they're extending the search to East Bergholt (North-west of Brantham) and Manningtree (south of Brantham)

This is like when that poor woman who was walking her dog in Lancashire ended up in the river and social media went mad. All sorts of conspiracy theories and she had a tragic accident.

Everyone needs to stop with the rumour mill. It doesn't help anybody.

That poor boy and the poor family. He looks so similar to my son when he was at that age.

Its like poor Nicola Bulley all over again. But no doubt it made the poster feel clever and important for a nano second, which is obviously how they get their kicks.

Thank every single one of you who have taken part in the search for our boy Noah,

To clear things up because people really do make up their own stories, he is only mildly autistic and has partial hearing loss, he is fully capable of every day tasks,

We still have nothing, all the emergency services and all of you have shown how strong this community is, with people coming from far and wide also,

The emergency services are very confident that the high risk areas (Decoy pond, railway lines) are all clear,

This means knowing our boy, he has gone even further, could I ask that all of you brilliant people out there today expand further if you are able to? Reference where I have outlined, and maybe even further than this,

I cannot go another night knowing he’s out there alone, please don’t give up on him guys,

He is out there somewhere and I appreciate every single one of you.

Praying this precious little boy is found safe. This happens too often.

Most missing children are run aways.

It's not difficult to use common sense and know that a repeat teen runaway doesn't need a national alert but a non verbal, autistic 3yo might.

Absolutely heartbreaking, as the parent of a non-conversational AuDHD child, this is my worst nightmare. Praying for a happy end to this one. Thoughts go out to all the family and especially the grandfather. I know how my dad or FIL would feel in this instance. Hopefully good news soon

What a pointless comment.

It’s a long time for such a young child to be missing. I can’t imagine how his poor family are feeling. I hope he is found very soon.

How sad that at this time he feels he has to come on and debunk people’s weird theories/ideas. I can’t imagine what it’s like having people point the finger at your own family.

Yes, fortunately I never had to test my AirTags to find out how effective they were.

I do know how easy it is to lose a child though, even a NT one. I once lost my DD age 2/3 for a few minutes in IKEA marketplace when she trotted off down an isle and I followed but when I got to the end she had vanished! I was frantic. Also briefly lost a 5 year old DS at baggage reclaim when he went to join his father (who was only a couple of metres away) and I stayed with the baby and pushchair but he somehow managed to get lost in a passing crowd on the way! Cue frantic search and he was found in tears a few moments later but it felt like a lifetime.

It was after these that I started using the AirTags!

Nicola Bulley. That is exactly what I was thinking. People are horrendous with their ghoulish speculations and internet 'sleuthing'. Awful. Poor kids and family. Poor poor grandad who will be in pieces.

The anguish that family must be in.

I really hope it's a case of he just kept going and going and has ended up a lot further away than they imagined.
