Praying he is found safe and well. He must be terrified poor mite.

Fairyyqueen · Today 09:19

Just to let everyone know, I just looked up best trackers for kids and found one called angel sense, it is a GPS tracker with lots of features such as 2 way voice so you can speak to your child on it and you can see their exact location. It is also specifically designed for autistic children which is amazing! I just wanted to share that.

I really hope little Noah is found safe as soon as possible, his poor parents and grandparents must be going through hell.

He ran off, his grandad gave chase and fell over. By the time he'd got back up the boy was out of sight.

I don’t know what point you are making? I am simply saying that it’s so easy to happen and it could have happened to any of us. I am directing it to the people who are insinuating that it wouldn’t have happened as they use air tags etc.

I’ve looked into them but one issue is getting the child to reliably wear it.

Mine will strip given half the chance so if it’s in clothes its use is limited.

He won’t wear a lanyard, or backpack etc. it’s a nightmare.

hotmumshit · Today 09:24

Okay thank you @BestZebbie and @Kitte321 will buy some on payday. Got to be done.

God how his parents must be in pain. Please god let him be found safe and well.

That poor little soul and his poor family.

There is so many large bodies of water close to that playground, I really hope he's not went anywhere near any of them.

You used the word mistake. It wasn't a mistake, the poor grandad fell over.

You can buy little wrist straps that you fasten the air tag into. We bought them when we took the kids to the Grand Prix, just in case.

My DD wouldn’t tolerate a wristband, it would have come straight off, but we had these little rubber holders with a safety pin. We would then place it somewhere discreet that she hopefully wouldn’t notice, like the back of her waistband. Obviously this needs to be replaced daily onto whatever she is wearing.

The problem with burying them in coats or shoes is that these items are too easily removed or changed. My children will often throw their coat off if they are running around even in the dead of winter. And they might go out in their wellies/crocs/sandals rather than their trainers.

Poor little lad, truly hoping they find him safe and soon.

Initially I thought he'd have gone and hidden behind a shed/similar but I had a look at google maps. Here you'd have had a parent or two walking along that alleyway/track as a nice walk for school pick up, and 100% someone walking. I can't believe no one saw him now. It's awful.

AustenitesUnite · Today 09:31

BBC are saying there is going to be a briefing in the Village Hall at 9.30 for all the people who are waiting to go out on searches . . . .

For me reins were more for kids who would potentially bolt straight into traffic rather than to stop them from being abducted.

I never used them either but I did consider it once after my DD went missing in M&S on Oxford Street. She was hiding inside one of those circular clothes racks whilst me, other customers and staff were all frantically searching for her. She was just playing hide and seek basically.

Oh my twin nieces do this re the clothes rack. Or, one of them does while the other runs around the shop. It's really common. But their mother (my SIL) can't use reins on two children. It's just really hard. Kids think so differently and have such an innocent outlook.

Unfortunately, I don’t think there is a perfect option. We did wrist bands and it worked fine for us but it probably made me feel better, rather than excluding risk.
sadly, things like this will happen. It doesn’t sound like anyone is to blame here.
Lets all pray for a positive outcome 🙏

It was aimed at the people saying it won’t happen to them ffs! Even with an air tag something awful can happen.
We can all fall over, get distracted, talk to another mum at the playground and we all have.

Update from BBC ~

"As reported a short time ago, the search area for volunteers has now widened to also include East Bergholt and Manningtree"

Ihateboris · Today 09:38

I cannot believe that this poor little boy hasn't been seen. I haven’t read the full thread, but who was the relative he was with?

Yes I find it so weird that not one person has seen this child in a residential area at a busy time. That said, he could have hidden and come out later or maybe fell asleep. I just hope someone hasn’t got him against his will or that he’s fallen down something. It’s absolutely unthinkable. The first thing I did when I woke up was check the updates. I just can’t imagine what his family must be going through.

AutumnAllTheWay · Today 09:40

How far is the extended search? Close enough to have got there on his own?

The altenative doesn't bear thinking about

Oh God bless him! Every parents worse nightmare!

I'm just praying he's hidden somewhere safe-ish and in no harm, my heart absolutely breaks for the family!, It's every parents nightmare.

Do you have one on your grandchild at all times? I guess not. I suppose if he goes missing at least you'll be able to find his teddy.

Not now he’s 7, no, although I think DD put one on him when travelling in the holidays. All the kids have bracelets with trackers on them. He always wore one when younger when going to zoos/ parks etc. either on him or in his favourite teddy which I made a harness for so he could wear it on a lanyard.

What a gross, unfounded accusation to make with zero evidence.
