Influx of far-right posters

Slightyamusedandsilly · 07/09/2026 08:57

Why has the site suddenly had an influx of far-right posters? Almost overnight.

Is this a concerted campaign by the black shirts from Dover, Reform or Tommy ten names to infiltrate women's SM?

Okay, there's been a bit of a Burnham bounce for now, but they were, and they're currently second - that still represents a fair few people.

Not enough to win them the seats needed to form a government, thankfully.

I predict Farage will step down for family reasons and Reform will go pfft.

More about the "devout Christian guy":

Who is 'Danny Tommo'? Tommy Robinson associate at centre of Portsmouth and Dover migrant protests
Daniel Thomas was jailed in 2016 after an attempted kidnapping, but claims he has now turned around his life through religion
https://www.standard.co.uk/news/uk/danny-tommo-tommy-robinson-dover-portsmouth-migrants-b1296000.html

From 2016, two years in prison for breaking into a man's house with knives and attempting to kidnap him, because Tommo wrongly believed the man had stolen £10,000 worth of drugs from him.

Arrested again in 2019 for his actions during a pro-Trump demonstration outside Buckingham Palace.

Also 2019 he was a key figure in UKIP and organised a "Brexit Betrayal" march (not 100% sure what that is. I suspect it's "We don't know what we want. But we're angry we haven't got it.")

Like Stephen Yaxley-Lennon, he has been jailed for attempting to disrupt rape trials. (The tactic is to disrupt the trial in ways that cause a mis-trial to be declared. Then complain that justice hasn't been served.)

Previous charges (though possibly not convictions) for a fake passport, committing mortgage fraud, and assault.

He seems to have described his new group, Patriot Platform as "the English Defence League - just without the alcohol, drugs, shouting, protesting and flag waving".

Oh and he claims he converted to Christianity after leaving prison and sometimes posts bible quotes on his social media to prove it.

Fuck. How did we get to the point that this guy is leading hundreds of young men?

Where are all we the great minds of this country? They definitely haven't gone into politics. Are they all in the city working in finance (because in this wolrd the "best" job is the one that pays the most) and plotting how not to pay tax on their next bonus?

Absolutely creases me how the left label everyone with a different opinion to them as a bot. They genuinely cannot understand how people think differently to them and have different experiences and views but apparently the right are the ones that are narrow minded 😂

I am not far right but have been a Conservative Party Member since 1978. I've always been surprised at how left leaning a supposedly middle class forum is.

Similar here though not that long! I am so hopeful about Kemi and hope she can make a meaningful difference.

Reform are very much not leading in the polls. 😁

This is important to repeat as so many people don't seem to know what the actual polls show,

Similar to people not knowing what the actual immigration figures, incl small boat arrivals, show.

It is actually far more working class. At least the women who attended MN meet ups in the past are.

That is not what is happening. Regular right wing posters are not being labelled bots by left wing posters.

I hope she can pull back the Tories who have gone over to Reform, but without becoming a version of Farage herself or her party becoming Reform 2.0. That would be a good thing for everyone.

Exactly, this thread is not about Conservative posters or even the 'I don't vote Reform but' posters.

It is about those who spread hatred about immigrants.

There is a big difference between far right views and right wing views. Most of us can tell them apart. There has definitely been an increase in the former. I pointed to an example earlier in the thread.

Yes I know there is

But centre ground politics and that is right and left the subject of immigration is now central to the discussion which some will view as right wing, and stricter controls being discussed which again some view as right wing politics and would not have been central to discussions for centre thinking politics as it is now

Politics has always shifted around to reflect society its not set in stone

As for left well many on the far left hold very right wing views towards Jewish people

Yes, some left wing people do hold anti-semitic views. I don't deny that. Anti-semitism isn't solely found in one sector of society as we all know.

Sadly I know a lot of supposedly "intelligent" men who fit that bill precisely.

Of course legitimate concerns about immigration does not equal far right. We all want the small boat crossings to end, I would think.

But, for example, pushing the great replacement theory most definitely is far right. And there was a fair bit of that last night.

Does the tension arise because some people are more comfortable in expanding on WHY the crossings should end? If we all agree they should stop then there must be a good reason... what exactly is that? Or is to speak it out loud where we enter into 'far right' territory?

We all want controlled immigration, we probably disagree on what that control should look like but common ground and respect can be found.

Far right views are very different to that. When you have posters encouraging people to support those masked black cladded men, attacking our emergency services then that is a huge worry. Especially when they have just signed up to this platform.

For me the boat crossings should stop because they are dangerous and basically encourage people smuggling.

That doesn't mean I think the UK should stop asylum applications.

I would suggest so called safe routes and offshore processing centres.

What is your view?

The reasons the crossings need to stop are because the crossings are dangerous (not just for the people in the dinghies, but also for the RNLI and rescue services etc), criminals are making money and people are being cruelly exploited.

None of that is far right territory.

ETA: I also agree with what TPF says about safe routes etc.

Your post prompted me to look up to see if Reform is an actual party yet or still a limited company. I remember Farage promising he would end it being a private business, and it seems he never done that. It is still a company.

Sorry for not great link.

Edit to add. I have no idea if political parties are usually private companies, but I defo remember Farage saying he would change that.

Yes that is a very strange legal set up. It means it is totally controlled by farage with zero democracy

AvogadrosNumber · 07/09/2026 14:14

It depends on why you think the small boat crossings should end, really. Not everyone has the same thoughts around them.

For example, I'm a left of centre voter. I am happy that small boats crossings are falling.
My main problem with small boats crossings
is that they are a huge money making scheme for people trafficking gangs. The idea that the 'libs' love the boats is laughable.

Yes it's a private limited company controlled by farage called reform party. It is not legally a political party with democracy.

What is your view?

My position is that we are missing a couple of important things - we must know who is coming into the country and accept that not everyone arrives with good/pure intentions (that's human nature).

When people arrive through illegal means and without any documentation the authorities have to take their word for it. Then they get housed in local communities where the local residents, understandably, feel uncomfortable about this. On top of that, people are coming from countries with very different cultures, often around attitudes to women, gay people and behaviour. There is a distinct move that the comfort of other cultures must come before our own... an approach that would be (is) viewed as problematic in non-UK countries.

Pretending culture clashes don't happen or that everyone will automatically blend in is just ignoring what people experience in their day-to-day lives. Most of us want to help genuine refugees fleeing war. But the current setup is full of loopholes that bad actors and human traffickers exploit...whether that’s claiming to be a minor, destroying papers, or stringing out legal appeals.

It's a bad scene. My position would be for hard deterrents to the boats and borders alongside strict entry criteria for entering the country based on skills.
