Influx of far-right posters

Slightyamusedandsilly · 07/09/2026 08:57

Why has the site suddenly had an influx of far-right posters? Almost overnight.

Is this a concerted campaign by the black shirts from Dover, Reform or Tommy ten names to infiltrate women's SM?

No actually I think Mumsnet should keep posts that are posting misinformation- that way when they are called out people can see them for what they are- deliberate misinformation.

Also I didn't take offence to them - I simply corrected them with facts (or in this case a lack of any evidence).

So you’d like posts that you consider ‘misinformation’ to stay so you can argue back forth with the people who wrote them? I guess that’s one approach. Weirdly though I notice that when the debate doesn’t go the way someone likes they then start reporting posts.

Scrolling back on this thread it seems I was right. Littered with deleted posts.

You said ‘on your way’, and you complain when I reciprocate.

I am not frustrated - the headlines are not going Labour’s way, as usual. Bad luck.

I didn't mean YOU get on you way. I meant MN didn't tell OP she was wrong so should get on her way. I see quotation marks would have avoided the confusion, so apologise it was unclear.
I don't take much notice of the headlines. Labour are in government and I'm happy with the direction of travel, so I'm content.

I agree with the pp that posts should be left - partly because it avoids the same stuff being repeated over and over. Misinformation (or more often differences of experience/opinion) can be challenged, they don’t need to be deleted.

I never know what the rules for deleting are, some shocking things are left and more innocuous things get deleted so who knows.

The only deletions I've seen are the posts of a highly abusive individual. If today's offerings were anything like the one I had directed at me yesterday, simply for politely questioning them on something they said, I'd imagine the deletions were for personal attacks rather than 'a direction people those reporting them didn't like'.
If people can't manage to control themselves when they don't like the direction and descend to abusive behaviour, they will inevitably get reported.

I don't think MN can be the arbiter of what is true and what is misinformation.

Agree. I didn’t report the poster because I think it’s better that people can see them
for what they are. I’m up for disagreement and strong views, but they didn’t even bother to engage with the things I’d said before flying off the handle. I’ve seen them use the same language time and time again, it’s obviously just their style.

I prefer mistakes stay up, they can be corrected. There’s enough deletions with the personal attack rule.

Can someone show me where Yusef has said that legal migrants do not belong?

Or is he targeting over stayers they had no legal entitlement to be in the country, be deported along with stopping the boats.

I need to see how far right this British Muslim man really is…

They are dangerous. But ok to receive millions from billionaires. Once they are in they will show their true colours. Divide and rule.

Perhaps you should pay heed to the headlines - if gilt yields continue to blow out, Healey is going to be screwed in October.

I agree. I didn't report their comment about me either. Had it stayed people wouldn't have been able to say "I've not seen such things except from the left..." or "I can't comment because I haven't seen it" because they can't bring themselves to call it out if the abuser's politics align with their own.

I'm happy to wait to see what October brings, listen to what the government actually say and take it from there. There's always people wanting to whip up a frenzy of doom mongering, and others on the edge of their seats willing it to be true. I take a lot of no notice these days unless it's from the horses mouth,.

Well, the horses’s mouth is/are the bond markets - not Burnham, not Healey.
Feel free to watch the price action between now and the budget.

You believe them to be dangerous. I have yet to see this assertion to be true.

So Unions funding a political party who’s all but using their funding leverage to bully a certain political party to take up a position on gender, or withdraw based on biological sex protected, isn’t dangerous?

I guess we will have to wait and see on that one. See what they really do if they get into power and what turn this country takes

Well they cannot surely be worse than the last few Governments we have had. Everyone seemed to have found a magic money tree but only when it came to the two child UC limit removal!

Duly noted on the union and sex issue ignored.
