Has anyone else seen the news about what’s happening in Portsmouth this evening
A boat has arrived in Hampshire and the protesters from Dover are currently in the sea blocking passage with hundreds more on the quay blocking coaches waiting.

So you would rather no authorities met and contained them? You do realise that this would mean boats would arrive and the people on them would just disappear into the UK? Is this preferable to you and your ilk?

You would rather authorities were not working together with French authorities and the RNLI?

So what exactly would be the strategy of the masked protesters to stop the boats carrying illegal immigrants? At what point do you actually 'stop the boats' and how exactly?

Because it sounds like all these masked protesters have a much better idea but they seem keen to keep it to themselves. I have heard not one single solution from them. Not one.

Detain them and send them immediately to a third country for processing. Pity Starmer cancelled the arrangement

They were pictured on a train smiling and raising a glass to the boys saying they'd never felt safer.

They posted this in a group called "South East Patriots" or something similar. Stop pretending these were just random women. They were affiliated with the group of thugs. Probably their wives or partners or mums travelling with them to give them cover.

All the government's have ignored demands to stop illegal immigration and hugely reduce legal immigration for years. Ignored, dismissed and insulted those people raising their legitimate concerns and problems.

Protests are the only remaining way to put pressure on the government.

I’ve no complaint against them particularly. But they have societal problems as do most nations. As do we. I just don’t think we will agree on what ours are, or on how they should be managed.

And yet you don't think the RNLI should help people on boats that are in difficulties. You have said "

Brexit imo was just an immigration issue for most; Europe was demanding we had to sign up to Schengen. At the same time Turkey was being considered for membership and the fear was millions of Turks (and those passing through from other countries) would be making their way here.

But as pps have said, the people were ignored. Even when other European countries are acting there’s a defeatist “nothing can be done” message.

I think you might find that in fact in terms of our quality of life we are, in relative terms to lots of other places, not fucked at all.
