Hundreds of masked protesters dressed in black disrupting Dover port.

They bear an unfortunate resemblance to the blackshirts

Port of Dover delays: Miles of traffic as protesters block roads

Traffic is being stopped from going in and out of the port because of a demonstration by a large group of masked protesters, with ferry services operating with some delay.

So you support these masked men?

I don't know enough about who they are and what their ultimate beliefs are to support or not support but I know that many people are justifiably enraged about what is happening to our country.

You might want to try living in Afghanistan if you think men like this "taking control" is a good thing. They are always the same men, under-educated frothing racists who think they know best for everyone else so they use violence and threats to keep everyone in check.

Samysungy · 05/09/2026 13:47

They are a bunch of losers who seek to say 'ban the burka' and then oddly cover their faces similar to the burka. Irony eh?

They say stop intimidating women and kids and then congregate in large groups to intimidate women and kids.

Not quite the same uniform as the black clothes, hoods and balaclavas.

They also don't have Bibles in their hands, as these Christians do.

Oh wait. They are not that sort of Christian.

Unless they left their Bibles at the East Kent Arms in Ramsgate, and are now on their way back for Bible study.

"I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed me.
Matthew 25:35"

I think Pastor Tommah should have that as the study subject.

Thanks for your updates on this story Dunc.

I’m so glad that we have such oafs protecting us wimmin. Such heroes!

Do you think that they got there, stood around a bit trying to intimidate people and then got told that no dinghies were nearby so they went home to read the sun and drink a Stella?

Seriously though, why no police presence?

This has come about because of the failure to stop the flood of illegal migrants. Many people are desperate about what is being allowed to happen in Britain. They are sick of being ignored and protests like this will only happen more. Our country is changing beyond recognition.

The numbers have gone down.

Yes, why no police? Very good question, though maybe that's just the pictures we saw. What made them move on and how long were they there?

PerkingFaintly · 05/09/2026 13:55

It's certainly true that I'm justifiably enraged about Stephen Yaxley-Lennon going to Russia with Elon Musk's dad.

I'm justifiably enraged about Musk jr appearing on a giant screen at Yaxley-Lennon's conference threatening me in my own country.

I'm justifiably enraged about masked men all dressed in black blocking my country's roads and seeming to think they're the boss of me.

I'm justifiably enraged about Elon Musk and all the other social media billionaires treating our children as widgets to monetise and manipulate, and actively working to get children addicted.

I could be here all day with ways my country has changed in recent years which I'm justifiably enraged about.

Aha yes! But according to these neanderthals, the only women and children who need protecting are white English ones.

According the ongoing BBC reports, there were lots of police there.

The police escorted the masked men to the station, so it may have been the police who made them move on or they might have been planning to move anyway.

I believe from looking on Instagram it's a group of people trying to "show numbers" in response to migrants entering the UK. The caption reads Protect Our Country! And more Importantly our women and children. This is our warning. That's just a direct quote from it for anyone that cannot view it.

Meanwhile at the Reform conference a woman was physically assaulted by men whilst others sat and watched and Farage laughed.

Protecting woman and children my arse.

Christ, imagine having to sit on a train full of these masked ex-cons on the way to anywhere!

What has changed beyond recognition?

Roundabouts and lampposts?

Some communities, some education settings, health services, safety at night, public services to name a few.

Zara9698 · 05/09/2026 14:02

The BBC is reporting that no arrests were made and the mob received a police escort to the train station. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/live/cmwyzxlzxpzgt
This is outrageous, they disrupted a working port and intimidated/disrupted the lives of residents, tourists and shift workers at the port. Why did the police do nothing?!? Remember the Sarah Everhard protest which took place on a park? No disruption to anyone and female protestors were dragged across the ground by their hair!

Under his eye.

Probably a lot of police among them - the only reasons to wear face coverings are if you worry you might lose your job and to intimidate. Lots will be ex-cons who are out on parole and the rest will be angry men in menial roles who want more power. All want to do the same as the Taliban, just under another name.

I agree that some communities have changed, wouldn't say beyond recognition but safety at night has improved.

I didn’t realise ‘stop the boats’ meant all boats, including ferries and cargo ships. I guess they did a good job of stopping people using those today so well done chaps.

They are a convenient scapegoat for many. Not sure what Reform would do if the boats actually stopped.

I am all for stopping the boats and have safe routes to claim asylum.

Apart from the anarchists wearing black clothes, hood and balaclavas you mean?

Sanky · 05/09/2026 14:25

iloveanearlynight · 05/09/2026 14:19

It was a brief, non violent protest that was calm and is now over.

Violence doesn't have to be physical. Standing in silence dressed all in black, face covered, is intimidatory, psychologically violent and should be made illegal if it isn't already.

I believe that their argument has limited merit, and also that it's being used as an excuse to just behave as some men like to behave. But regardless, there is no excuse for this type of behaviour.

We all want Britain to be successful and prosperous. We can debate the way to do that, but it is definitely not to assemble as a group of several hundred, don an all black uniform, cover your face with a mask, and stop business at one of our busiest ports whilst intimidating thousands of local people in the process.

The British values that these men claim to represent include democracy and respect for the rule of law. The vast majority of voters don't support Reform/Restore, and the law says that you can't hold disruptive protests in the way they did today.

These people do not speak for me.
