Actually @madaboutpurple I think it's more serious than that
Basically an organised group was able to disrupt major transport infrastructure. This made their protest unlawful. They were completely unimpeded by police. As far as I know there have been no arrests.
Regardless of whether I agree with them or not, this is very serious. Terrorists and the like will have taken note of the police inaction and political silence.
Apart from that I am old enough to remember paramilitary militias during the Troubles. Anybody who was around then knows we can't have anything like that happening again.
And as a woman I find the sight of hundreds of masked men or fighting age congregating strategically really intimidating.
They thought they'd get away with it and they were right. As a British feminist my faith in the police is dented a little more.
This protest in Dover is a very worrying political development. For the first time in my life I am considering writing to my MP.
