You know what might be good? Implicating an actual legal route so people don't just wash up as and when they want. Maybe join something bigger than us, like EU and get laws and systems passed to help with the increasing issues climate change and wars are going to have on migrant issues?

I agree that the system is broken, the backlog was huge, but is getting fixed. Ofcourse people will slip through the net, no system is perfect. The majority are genuine.

And during that time we also had lorry entrants. So I don't think that would help us at all.
Also the EU has massive problems with immigration and today 5 countries have decided to process people in a non EU country.

They haven't built new ones from what I have seen, but are extending old army ones. So the community is likely used to have 1000 plus men nearby.
I would rather have them named and finger printed than just wandering over like they do in US.

The issue with the hotels was it was earning the hotels millions so they allowed it to continue, Tory mates again, not in a huge rush to deport their golden goose. Who else could guarantee full room bookings all paying rack rate for months on end? £8milion a day. I very much doubt extending barracks will be costing that for the next 10 years as it was with the Tories.

It’s probably running costs too. Higher costs aside Labour have an issue even with leafy Lib Dem areas saying no, so if you’re a yes let them know.
