Does anyone know what's going on in Dover?

Hundreds of masked protesters dressed in black disrupting Dover port.

They bear an unfortunate resemblance to the blackshirts

Port of Dover delays: Miles of traffic as protesters block roads

Traffic is being stopped from going in and out of the port because of a demonstration by a large group of masked protesters, with ferry services operating with some delay.

The antifa?

I am an anti fascist but don't have a balaclava.

Maybe you aren't a man, it seems to be a man thing

I wasn't talking about cheap labour

We have an aging population and a falling birth rate.

So as Reform say, we need immigration, but the MASS immigration project (designed to benefit bankers and corporates) has failed.

I am a woman. So you do not mean all of 'the Antifa' then?

You know it is a movement and not one group?

cardibach · 05/09/2026 17:21

My dad was antifa. All over North Africa, Palestine and Italy from 1939-1945. He had a uniform but no balaclava. He’d be turn8ng in his grave if I wasn’t antifa too.

I didn't respond to your post because it was bullshit nonsense.

The number of boat crossings is down. The asylum backlog is down. Overall immigration is down. This government is making that happen. I really don't know what you have to whinge about.

All they are doing is fiddling with visas to make it look better, that will end if AB ever won a GE (there is more chance of Santa being found on the Moon of course, but it is an outside risk if Farage stood down for example) There is also more chance of an economic crisis with AB and Labour, that puts people off coming here if they have other options IMO, the main flood of people was under the Tories who (used to be) trusted with the economy.

Dappy777 · 05/09/2026 17:22

oh ffs🙄"resemblance to the blackshirts"...I'll tell you who the fascists are – the liberal-left. They have IMPOSED multiculturalism on Europe. No one asked for it and no one voted for it. A fascist is an intolerant bully who seeks to dominate others and force them to bend to his will, and that is a perfect description of the left.

But because their bullying and spite and intolerance are directed towards middle-class Daily Mail readers, somehow it doesn't count. You can impose mass immigration on them. You can mock and demonize their national heroes, make them ashamed of their history, 'de-colonise' their libraries, cover their villages in new housing estates, make them hesitant to fly their national flag, and still consider yourself a nice cuddly little liberal-leftie instead of the nasty, spiteful, vicious, hate-filled bully you really are.

The Reform movement isn't fascistic, nor is the AfD. In spirit it is defensive. They aren't seeking to bully and dominate others, like the globalist left. They are trying to defend what is left of people's culture and identity.

This has come about because of the failure to stop the flood of illegal migrants. Many people are desperate about what is being allowed to happen in Britain. They are sick of being ignored and protests like this will only happen more. Our country is changing beyond recognition.

There is no 'flood' of illegal migrants.

You really shouldn't believe what the Daily Fail says, you know.

People aren't 'desperate'. They are deluded or self-seeking.

What is this MASS immigration project?

Immigration peaked in 2022.for understandable reasons but it has been falling since

What you mean is they are crying 'we want our victims back'?

I think it's Catholics coming over in coracles and forcibly converting us?

JasmineMac · 05/09/2026 17:27

Peaceful protest, no arrests. No one need have a problem with it (unless, of course, you're anti democracy).

What are you on about! you come up with left wing propaganda slogans and absolutely fail to see what is happening. Open your eyes. This is a call by devoted British citizens who want to highlight the danger we are facing. The disruption is in line with what train drivers achieve when they strike or the when the left wing fanatics blocked roads for StopOil or what ever they call themselves.

There are no slogans in what she posted, nor is it 'left wing' or 'propaganda'. You're just repeating a load of words you don't understand and which you have presumably taken from the right-wing media. You are being misinformed. You should know better than to believe what the media tells you.

It is a project whereby you flood developed economies with cheap labour from around the world so that bankers can lend more money where the rule of law requires repayment and corporates can benefit from suppressed wages, surprised you have not heard of it? Projects like the EU, forced through without proper democratic consultation, are mainstays of the Project because you can allow millions of people to wander about on a massive landmass without any checks, to borrow and spend, why do you think they were so pissed off that the 5th biggest (at the time) economy in the world left!

Even with Farage they have no chance. They are dropping in the polls and they never had the votes for a majority anyway. Plus they’d never get enough candidates to stand in every seat (and if they did, half would soon have to stand down if we go by their councillor record).
The number of people coming for asylum and via visas is decreasing. Whether that’s a good thing remains to be seen.

I have a problem with the fact they didn’t get permission. There are rules around protests of this type.
I’m glad it was peaceful, but it was clearly intended to intimidate.

Just ask one of the senior members of Reform to condemn this, and see what response you get.

Yes does remind me of the group supported by the Daily Mail in 1936.

Robert Jenrick did this morning. Not defending reform just stating a factl

Depends which ones you meet. These men and a majority of asylum seeking adult men from rigid extremist regimes are very similar, right wing, regressive, backward views. Often very angry and not averse to using criminality to achieve what they want.

Do you actually know any asylum seekers?

They will be joining up with Tories and Restore, do you really think the Tory party will walk off into the wilderness? They will be all over Farage when the time comes. Be careful what "polls" you read, Brexit should be enough of a history lesson for anyone who takes too seriously the nonsense the MSM try to present as fact.

This is a thread about a protest of asylum seekers arrival (which some call illegal though it isn’t). And ‘flooding’ a country with immigrants only causes wages to drop if people take advantage of them. That’s not inevitable and coukd be stopped.
I agree big business and billionaires are more of an issue than immigrants, whether asylum seekers or not.

I’m not sure the Tories would accept Farage. And his personal popularity is dropping fast too.

If you have ten or twenty applicants for every post you advertise why would you increase wages beyond legal minimums? You can"t vote to stop big business, but you can vote to stop mass immigration (the mere threat from Reform has had Labour putting the brakes on the visa system already)

'no need to have a problem with it'

You mean apart from

  • local people who had their journey and lives disrupted
  • the Ferry companies who had their business disrupted
  • lorry drivers who were stuck on the roads
  • The Port of Dover staff who had their working day made more difficult
  • the local businesses who lost trade
  • the police officers who had to waste their time dealing with these idiots
  • people who were due to travel by ferry and had their journey delayed or cancelled.

I live in a town near Dover and I certainly have a problem with these thugs travelling to the area and causing disruption
