What is the worst thing that has spilt from your cupboards?

any mess is a bad mess but what is the worst thing from your kitchen cupboards that has spilt? i was reaching for something the other day and an opened packet of chia seeds came falling out. now, if you know chia seeds, they are very small and do literally go everywhere! following them a packet of pumpkin seeds decided to join in and spread itself everywhere!

Bovril. It dripped down the back of one shelf to another and then solidified. We came back from two weeks holiday and by that time it had formed the hardest yet stickiest substance known to man.

Not spilt from my cupboards but a pack of butter which fell unnoticed out of a shopping bag in the boot of the car. Somehow, and I still can't work out how, it got down into the cavity where the spare wheel is kept.

I was driving around for months thinking this car smells literally rancid and blaming it on my teenage kids who used to borrow it.

Eventually I took up the cover and there was the empty foil wrapper. The butter had completely melted and seeped into every crevice it could. I never got rid of the smell and eventually traded the car in to a dealer.

Slightly less than 1 litre of sunflower oil. Loose top. Landed on me as I tried to catch it. Ruined the clothes I was wearing, took hours to clear up and everything was a bit greasy for weeks.

A dozen eggs

rotten potatoes are horrible. nothing worse than delving in a sack for spuds and your hands goin straight into a rotten spud

I once picked up a large bag of flour and dropped it over the kitchen floor when I realised it had weevils in it. I spent hours cleaning it up...and it was Christmas Day too.
I used to work for a high street bank and one day I tripped over when taking the cash from one part of the bank to the other to replenish the ATM. Thousands in £10 notes just drifted to the floor like confetti.

When we moved into our current place the people before us must have had this happen. Even after a proper clean in the kitchen I swear they kept on randomly appearing for weeks afterwards. I have no idea where they all kept coming from.

Not my cupboards , but it used to be the kids job to help with the shopping out of the boot of my car . I once went to work on a heatwave day , only to discover that they’d left a 6 pint milk bottle in there . For 2 days . And I’d merrily bounced down the A1 with it . When I picked it up , the whole bottle was distended , as if it was about to explode . So I gingerly took it by the handle , meaning to pour it down the work loo , when the bottom seam gave out and the whole lot basically went “flump” out of the bottom. I managed to heave it onto a flower bed , but my God , the smell .

It’s a toss up between sunflower oil and golden syrup!

Not a kitchen cupboard but my MIL broke the bathroom sink by dropping and smashing a large bottle of perfume. It reeked for months. They had to replace the flooring.

Soy sauce. An entire litre bottle fell from the cupboard and smashed. It went everywhere into every crease and drawer and down the side of the hob and into the cupboards below. It stank and took hours to clean up and then I kept finding smelly sticky bits for weeks.

Jar of beetroot only fell from the bottom. shelf onto the tiles . The beetroot was bad but the glass was worse you wouldn't believe how far the shards of glass went I cried it took so long to clean up the white grout was pink ! The next day I found a shard of glass in the hall at least 3 metres from the impact

Balsamic vinegar 20mins before I was due to leave for work. So many terrible spills here on this thread but this was definitely up there for me.

Oil but I also spilled a 1kg bag of flour on top of it so I cannot work out if it was a good thing I made an oil & flour paste or if it was the worst luck ever ?

And not a spill but a fucker to clean up-round my mates with our preschoolers one summers day. Thought"oh they're quiet" They'd found a new tub of lurpak and smeared each other and her whole kitchen with it. They had especially paid attention to her little girl and lavishly applied it to her lovely blonde curls. It was like a slapstick comedy, sliding everywhere. We dumped the kids in the paddling pool with half a bottle of matey. The kitchen got scrubbed about 20 times and was still greasy.

A 20L bag of ketchup when I worked at McDonald's as a teenager.

It went everywhere and took ages to clean up. I could smell it on myself even after a shower.

I see your spilt perfume in the bathroom, and raise you..........

A bottle of TCP.

Not from the cupboard, but an open bottle of olive oil was tipped over on the worktop and ran down the cupboard and all over the floor. I must have scrubbed the floor half a dozen times before it stopped feeling slippy. Absolute pain in the arse.

Jar of beetroot fell out and smashed. 🙈

Believe it or not dog treats a whole bag of sausage treats scattered all over floor my Corgi cross goes mad for them I had to wrestle him out of the Kitchen so I could clear them up and he did NOT want to go and he a powerful dog I ended up with a bruised arm and a bang on the head and a very grumpy dog

I dropped a can of beer on the floor which then split on one edge and decided to spin round and round spraying beer everywhere. It covered kitchen and went under the skirting boards, the cupboards and everywhere. The pong was terrible for ages, stale beer stinks.

Tin of treacle burst open and oozed there for some time before I discovered it.

The red food colouring pot was bad too.

Cooking oil. I hastily put the bottle on a high cupboard shelf and didn't push it back far enough for stability. On letting go it fell off losing it's top halfway down and splattering liquid grease over counter top, lower cupboard doors, wall and floor. There wasn't even that much oil lost but the extensive spread was impressive albeit a time consuming p i a to clear up.
